<div class="IPBDescription">Crouched BH and cl_drawviewmodel 0</div> Basically, couched bh allow you to move silently, yet it's a pretty hard tecnique to learn (I learned it in 3 years of TFC, but back then, BH wasn't forbidden). In Natural Selection i see many servers claiming that such tecnique it's forbidden <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
Since i want to be a fair ppl, is crouched bh considered cheating?
And more... cl_drawviewmodel 0 on some servers allows you to remove weapon model giving you good fps improvement and a more clear path of sight (especialy when you are skulking), yet as you use it you cant see parasites or sweeped enemies... i made a simple script that switch with 1 key beetwen the 2 ways of sight (1/0), but someone said me that it's illegal to use.
Well, i hope you can tell me what i can and what i can'T do, cya!

Drawviewmodel 0 is an exploit, too. The skulk's view is the way it is for balance reasons. If you really want an FPS boost, get a new video card. You can get a decent one for under $100.
Anyway, if it's bug abusing... but "standing" bh is allowed?
It all depends what side of the fence you stand on.
If you're with the "bunnyhopping is good" crew, then some/most/all forms of BH are encouraged.
If you're not.. Well, yeah, you get the picture.
And with your PC and graphics card you should be doing better, did you not tweak your HL correctly? Check <a href='http://www.readyroom.org' target='_blank'>The Ready Room</a> if you want some help.
Eitherway I think BH is fine unless the server bans it, but I agree with Flayra taking it out of NS.
Crouch hopping can be done at the exact same speed as 'normal' hopping, and you don't have to alternate the crouch you simply hold it and keep it held after the first jump.
As for what's allowed and what isnt - It all depends on the rules that cover whichever game you're currently playing in. If a server has a welcome message rule against hopping, then don't hop there. If they don't, hop your **** off and ignore anyone who complains.
Get the latest drivers from nvdia.com and turn vertical sync off, that might help. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Change your screen resolution. Try 1024 X 768. Also turn off antialiasing and make sure your using Direct Draw or Open GL.
As far as BH is concerned it really depends on what server you play on. We don't allow any exploits defined as: Any type of movement, view, sprite or model alteration that changes the game from what the developers had intended. This includes map exploits.
Some servers allow all this stuff so its best to check with the admins when you connect or visit their website and read their server policy.
I hunted him over the half map till he killed me.
I think it is absolutely fair because it requires leet skillz to bunnyhopp.
In 1 point I've to agree, silent BH is lame it has too many advantages imho.
and u "not-BHs" u don't even know how good u feel if u outrunned a skulk for the first time :-)

Or a good script.
Seriously, I doubt even the leek bunnyhopzororz would like scripted BHing, since the always seem to be claiming BHing is a <i>skill</i>.
I've seen a "working" BH script, but this was in CS where such a script actually overcomes set restrictions on BH'ing. He never shot while doing it, but he had other stuff that was shady about him, which just screamed h4x (I don't accuse people of hacking unless I see it for myself). They do exist.
Options were everything from BH only when no one was withing visual range to differnt types players that took priorty with aimbot. It was even set up to handle sevral differnt modes CS, TF and NS were the one I knew. (IE:
You could set it to shoot at lerks then fades then skulks then gorges.
You could allso set it to bunny hop when differnt players came within certain ranges (handy for dogdeing skulks)
I already set a link off to UA hopefully its already been incorperated in CD3.2
Well there really is no point to arguing anyway, as BH was said to be taken out in 1.1, and probably has.

What are you talking about? I don't use my mousewheel and I don't have a high end machine, yet I can still fly past people...

This is meaningfull, yet i disagree, bhopping is possible from 30 fps on. Obviously on TFC with 100fps it was easier (TFC physics is far cleaner than NS's)...
In any case, i'm not claiming that everyone manages to bhop on lowend machines (probably a matter of bearing to it), so you have a point there...
There is a HUGE difference in bhopping preformance between high and low end machines. And if you don't have a mousewheel when you're bunnyhopping, 80% most likely you only think you are and you're doing it wrong. I've run into too many people who think they can BH and turns out they are just diagonal jumping or some dumb stuff like that. Mousewheel makes it infinitely easier to bh.
Not saying you don't know how to BH, but since i generally don't respect it in NS anyway I suppose I shouldn't care, and I'm simply saying you'll bh with more accuracy and probably faster if your using a highend machine and a mousewheel (and that's my gripe with NS bunnyhopping, just one more advantage to high end machines). But as i said before, the arguing is pointless anyway. Right now is the perfect time for the script kiddies to get their "elite" on, before 1.1 comes out, and I bet they will.
Now that I look at it it addresses what DEMI said a bit as well, so i'll leave it as my reply to both of you.
