1)IP
2)Armor
3)Obs
4)Phase Gate
5)Send 2 marines for hive
6)get Hive
7)PG in the hive
8)TF in new hive
9)tf in 1st base (wit Tuerrets same applys for above)
10)Arsm Lab
11)Upgrade
12)3rd Hive

and so on but were i build the obs i see people building the arsm lab instead am i doing something wrong co i lose most of the time but cannot figure out why :/

plz help all

    Aliens have lvl 3 carapace waaaay before you have upgrades. That means skulks own your marines big time, marines die and you lose. Upgrades are priority number 1 after IP and armory, thats why people build Arms Lab when you build Observatory. No TF, no Observatory, no PGs, no turrets. Use mines to protect your base and focus on getting more RTs, not more hives unless the aliens are poor. 2-3 packs and one marine in your base will do the same job as a TF and 6 sentries, but costs about 5 times less.

    If you want to win easily, do Jetpack/HMG rush:
    1 IP
    1 Armory
    1 Arms Lab
    -Build all structures very close to eachother, preferably to a corner where you have visual from your CC so you can log out and shoot skulks.
    -Give marines 1 pack of mines and tell them to put it on the floor near your buildings.
    -Send marines to the nearest RT and build it.
    -Save for lvl 1 gun upgrade and start it.
    -Send marines to second nearest RT (not near their start hive, ask your marines where the start hive is if you can't hear it).
    -Save for 2nd RT and build it.
    -Save for lvl 2 gun upgrade and start it.
    -Send marines for 3rd nearest RT and build it.
    -Save for lvl 1 armor upgrade and start it (2nd upgrade for guns takes long so you might just capture more RTs after 3rd RT and start armor upgrade when you can).
    -If you think your marines are good and they attack enemy start hive and keep aliens busy, get even more RTs.
    -Save for Prototype Lab and build it.
    -Save for Jetpack upgrade and start it.
    -Save for Advanced Armory upgrade and start it.
    -If you're doing well and you have 4-5 RTs, save for lvl 3 guns upgrade and start it.
    -Make sure to recycle any RTs IMMEDIATELY (if you don't have marines very close) after you hear "Your structure is under attack". Press JUMP to reach buildings under attack quickly so you can recycle.

    Now you just save 100-200 resources, give Jetpack and a HMG to the best player in your team, then second best and so on (equip whole team if you can). Now you tell them to attack aliens 2nd hive (or first if it has low defense, use marines for scouting). Once the hive is gone, you can take one of your marines and tell him to get more RTs (if you have less than 4). Then send your marines to aliens first hive and do whatever you like, because at this point aliens are calling you a "lamer" or "cheap" and are probably too demoralized to do anything right.

    Summary:
    The entire point is to get Advanced Armory, Prototype Lab for jetpacks, upgrades for your marines and lots of Resource Towers for kicka$$ guns as fast as possible.

    in responce to ur question instead of turrent speech.

    usually after the arms and obs, (i then go for mines) well after that then the real decision u can make for arms lab or obs.
    arms lab for quick upgrades and ur rines live longer or obs and get pg or mt, it all depends on what u want or how u wanna play.

    personally i go for obs because u get pg which u usually require, but then again u will need the arms lab, and the good thing with marines is u can get upgrading on ur people instantly and have the edge for the first 5 mins of the game untill the aliens get dc. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    2x IP (i send marines to rush enemy hive as soon as i know where is it to rush and disturb em)
    1x armory
    some RTs near base
    Arms Lab
    1 lev upgrades
    Secure hive with TF only
    Obs and PGs
    Adv armory
    Proto lab and JP with HMGs for second hive
    Final asault on main hive.

    Usually i have lot of time coz gorge is killed at rush and till the rush of respawning marines is over (skilks and OCs) i have adventage in tech :>

    My commanding all depends if I really want to win the game. When the game must be won, I do this.

    IP
    Armory
    Get two nodes
    Arms Lab
    Armor 1
    Protolabe
    Recycle Arms Lab
    Research Advanced Armory
    Research Jetpacks
    For a team of 6 players I usually save up about 180 res then do one all out attack on thier hive with about 2 GLs, and 3 HMGs - all with Jetpacks.

    This is usually done quickly - and it is the standard HMG/JP rush that everyone complains about - hence why I only use it when I think the must be won (ie - a match)

    For fun games it is always fun to try to mess around with TFs and Phase Gates then tech up.

    I used to use that strategy except that i would buy motion tracking as soon as the obs was up. Usually with mt the rines could hold their own for a while, even against carp 3 skulks.

    I always get level 1 armor first over level 1 weapons. Why? It changes 2 bites from skulks to kill your marines to 3 bites. That extends their life by 50%.

    as for me....i like to make it up as i go along...depends on the aliens gameplay as well

    My favorite is a turret rush. It's a shame it can rarely be done... Once we had 200 res when I wen't into the cc after the comm had quit, and almost all the rt's in the map(ns_tanith). The last comm gave out ha hmg for everyone before he left, so we had no problems taking cargo. I put up an armory, a pg and a tf next to the wall. At this point aliens started flaming us about sieging and all that. I said don't worry, we aren't going to siege. Then I put turrets to that hallway going to fusion, and then a tf behind the box. And then we turreted the hive to death <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> There were about 20 turrets in the hive room.

    Someone ever tried a lmg/mine/jp ip rush?
    I did that in my first comming match and the aliens couldn't get outta their hive with 4 ip's that's mined till hell

    Advanced Armory should always go before the prototype lab. It takes two friggin minutes for that thing to upgrade. Get the upgrade first then the protolab and usually when the lab goes up you have 25 res for the jps. Both upgrades finish almost at the same time. Aw yeah gg aliens.

    Armor 1 shoudl always come before any gun upgrade. Any early weapon upgrades mean absolutely nothing. Ticks me off that I get no armor for most of the game because the comm wants level 2 guns right away which I don't really need...

    this isnt in frontiersman stratergy, why?

    i avoid that forum because of posts shuch as these..
    if i had one of those images which had some handicapped person on saying BEST THREAD EVER! then i would use it at this precise moment
