As to numbers, spikers have already won, there was a public vote on the forums stickied and made w/ no comments by flay, non-bite types won with a good 65-70 %. P.S. Guys keep the flaming down please? I'm not a mod but some of you are turning this to a flamefest.
Don't worry about the lerk bite. You won't miss it. Right now the lerk does not start with umbra, so you would be hard pressed to survive any kind of melee confrontation with a marine. Heck, you'll be hard pressed to survive a long range confrontation with a marine that is any kind of a good shot. Usualy you play cat and mouse with them laying down spores and just trying to deny them access to a given area.

If you knew anything about game design, and balance, you would know that the biggest mistake with the lerk was giving it bite in the first place. It forced flay to nerf the spikes etc.. so that lerks were less powerfull.. because of what? yes, thats right the bite.
The lerk needs to have ranged weapons, otherwise it can just fly in, **** destroy, fly away, heal, repeat..
so please do us all a favour, and dont bother with your poorly thoughtout suggestions.

Ever since I watched the USA vs EU demo (reddragon demo), I've been playing lerk + bite HARDCORE. 3 hives up? who cares, I still went about chompin'. It was fun.
But good times are gonna be over. And as I savor these flesh eating moments, I await the next version of lerk; for better or for worse, I _will_ adapt.
