Server Hosting Problem

<div class="IPBDescription">can't get my server to work on the net</div> I've been trying to get a non-dedicated server working, and strange things have been happening. I first tryed it and nobody could see my server on the internet. I downloaded the server files thinking that would help, but i dont think thats the problem because i found other people in non-dedicated 1.0 servers....Then i tryed creating a dedicated server, it worked without any problems, and everyone online could join. I noticed that this dedicated server also was joinable for people on my LAN. I went back to created the non-dedicated server to find that even though I create it in the internet games menu it is only joinable from the LAN...what's the deal?

    in your listenserver.cfg make sure you have the line sv_lan 0

    ok thanks, that worked...now I can get in running...now if anyone could explain or show me where i can read about how to install plugins that would be "elite".

    the server forum is where you wana poke around (I am willing to bet there si a sticky or some thing)

    Well connecting from LAN is normal if your on a LAN. If you are still reading this post, you need metamod to install plug-ins. To get great info and help tweeking your server I suggest <a href='http://www.unitedadmins.com' target='_blank'>www.unitedadmins.com </a>you can get your server plug-ins and help in one stop. =)
