<div class="IPBDescription">ahhhh</div> I just bought a new mic and when i use it on ns people say ia m unclear and they cant understand me but when i use voice loop back i sound fine to me whats going wrong?

How do you sound with the voice utility that operates from the Half-Life start menu folder? The configurator utility, that allows you to hear yourself?

have you put voiceloopback on when you were on one of the servers people said your voice sounded bad?

What did they complain about?
Crakle?
hiss?
pops?
statick?
buzzes?
ringing?
garbled?
gaps?
high pitched whiney 10 year old voice? (note joke here <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'>)

This has happend to me and -There is no fix. People were complaining. I spent 9 dollars for the people. Then, I go into a pub the next day and my comrades could't understand me. Exaspirated and frothing at the mouth, I gave up. Next day, it worked, and has worked. My suggestion to you is, keep trying, and keep plugging it in and out. Perhaps beat it with a hammer. I don't know what I did to fix it, just keep the faith, and It should work.....*tinkle tinkle*

try putting voice_dsound 1 in the console, works for me. I hear it's a soundcard problem.

Just get a cheap USB headset. I'm using the one that came with SOCOM for PS2.

Yeah its the weirdest thing in one game people can say things like "is there a sock in your microphone" but in the next game they hearme loud and clear and i do use voice loopback when ever anyone says my voice is fooked and it souds all right and i do use voice_check or whaterver its called.
