It's cause NS is getting new mind control codes inserted into it you see. The 1.x series had the military's 2.4.6 zeta series of brainwave inducing software. Now that NS is getting an upgrade to version 3.0a, Flayra had to change the version number.

I think the real reason for the name change is due to the fact that 1.1 is a totally different game (strategy / gameplay/ sound effect etc) wise that it was only fitting to call it 2.0

Or they want to disassociate themselves with the 1.x name, due to it being associated with JP rushing..

A large proportion of the community left, mainly because of this lovely little strat, putting 2.0 seems like an attempt to make people "forget".
