<div class="IPBDescription">A big decision for me.</div> Well, after unsuccessfully trying to rally a some marines to exploit a weakness in the aliens defence one too many times, I am about to make a big decision in my Natural Selection career.

I think I may end my boycott, abandon the public servers and find a clan to join. *gasp* <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'>

To those of you who know me, you are aware that I have shunned structured competetive gaming for almost 2 years now for several reasons. but I am beginning to long for the precision tactics that I used to enjoy so much.

Am I making the correct decision? who knows? But hopefully Ill be able to find a a mature group of gamers to join up with and raise Hell.

How many people here actually compete in clans and do you think I am making the correct choice?

I think thats a wise move with 2.0 coming up. I always play on CoFR, so its never really a problem for me. I'm part of RealCombat.com, but that league died once they expanded past TFC :-/

We have a Natural Selection server, as well as servers for other games, in case you need variety. We're not a clan, but we do have a Natural Selection team that competes in tournaments.

im exactly the same, well cept ive been playing less time than yourself.
im basically getting fed up with lack of teamwork on pubs, and am looking for some kind of reliability/ planned co-operation in teammates.
might be fun, somthing new.
out of interest, what were the reason you shunned clans till now?

heh, i know what you mean about immature players - usually when i play (as marine) the entire plan is to scatter as much as we can...making any line of attack or defence useless for ages till the comm. figures out that gathering the team is better (tho the comm. usually gets annoyed and starts calling us the f word).

As comm. i usually make people do what i find best in situations, and sometimes with good results <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'> other times, there's the rambo type who takes half or more of the squads and dies in a painfull ambush because they weren't listening for skulk or heavyer movements.

Also, isent it annoying that everyone keep asking for HMG's when the team either has 2 resources or the game just startet?

anyway - if you find a mature clan, stick with em...their hard to find.

I have just started to try to get into a clan too. Pubs just aren't as fun anymore. They have been steadily degrading. In my quest for a clan, even though I may have not gotten in the one I want yet, I have met a lot more gamers that use teamwork in NS! Imagine that! So, when I am playing with them, if not in a clan match, its more fun that with run-of-the-mill pub player.

I know that there are quite a few good pub players too. I play with regulars everyday and they work well as a team.

Enough of my rambling. Join a clan, its soo much better.

My god, no wonder you want to join a clan, look at all these people insulting you.

I suggest you joina clan, but <i>thoroughly</i> inspect them first. Make sure they're nice and have a great personality, but make sure they're at least a little skilled. There was a clan called DFA I used to hang out with, and anyone who was better they automatically BANZ0Red. So you see, it's not just personality and not just skill. But you need to have a little of both. I recommend dn', or something like that, or EC ^^.

That depends on where you play in Pub servers. Some are degraded as you say and some are just as competitive as any clan match.

if ur in a clan that plays regular matches every night, then u will soon see why public play is such a bore. (unless your in a n00b clan which gets owned every night, in that case isnt fun.)

I have only ever joined one clan before in my life, and that was for Delta Force 2. The clan was called 'BTA', but pretty much the day after I joined it I couldn't get in contact with its leader anymore and so I wasn't really in the clan at all.... lol - it was kinda stupid

I would, however, love to join a clan of UK, good, mature people also to have a bash around with. I just don't know how to go about doing it...

Did you guys ask to be in your clan or did the clan ask you? I hate asking for things, so I never do ... joining the right clan is a hard choice.
I have been in and out of clans in a ton of different games.
as of this date, I'm not in any NS clan, I would rather my skills be assosiated to me and not my clan, I get too much enjoyment of Pwning someone to the point of them telling me off and quitting the server.

Well I guess I am in a clan, my Site clan, but besides that no clan for me!

Always play with a clan and get to know the members before you join, nothing worse then joining a clan of ****!

I was in a clan but it kinda fell apart after a while. Games of NS were great playing with people you know and like. Nowadays I don't enjoy NS as much. Maybe I'll find a clan too. Good luck finding one.

hehe, problem in clans is leadership and decisionmaking.

We basically wear a clan tag, have lots of fun in game, and don't do matches, weheey!

You asked the reason I left the clan scene for a while? ^^^

Actually, I was a bit worried that this post would be flame bait but thanks to the majority of people who can keep discussion civilized.

I think my biggest challenge at the moment is not finidng a clan, but finding one that will last.
