P229s fire .357 ammo. Is that the same kind as what that revolver uses (can't remember who has it)?

Ah, the .357 round. Yes, its was used in revolvers, but most prefer to use .44 or .50, since they have more stopping power. .357 was like, in the days of the old west I believe, or before it...not sure.

Now thats a peculiar thing to say. .357 is still quite popular, Glock just came out with a .357 model and I plan on getting it when I can work myself around this retarded firearms act we got up here. Stopping power is a bit ridiculous too, shoot a man in the chest with a 9mm, .357 or .45 he aint going anywhere.

I don't care if .45 ACP has more stopping power. I'll still use the same guns as Ghost (Enter the Matrix).

Yes well, despite what Dirty Harry said about the .44 Magnum, I think a shotgun slug has even more potential to blow one's head "clean" off. Given the right amount of acceleration space, a slug will expand and take all of what's inside your head, out.

Your commander has said that you can take either the stairs or the lift down 1 floor to the crew and living quarters. He didn't specify whether or not they also had access to anywhere else. Either one has enough space to let the entire squad use it, if they wish. But if you want to take the injured down the lift while the others take the stairs instead, that's fine too; I'll let this be an exception to the "don't split up" rule since you'll still be in the same area and it's for such a short period of time.

Actually, the .357 is still very popular amongst revolver and SIG users... Because it's not as expensive as the .45 and .50 caliber

Well, I think this got a bit too far. I mean, some twists to the story is fine, but as far as I can see, half the crew got killed and magically revived, the armoury got hacked to bits by a random civic from nowhere and the story is torn to more pieces than I can count. Sure, Marik had some nice ideas, and I'm going to talk those over with him (sent a PM), but they were mostly disconnected from the rest of the mess.

Well, I'm not home yet so I probably won't be able to take part for real for another week or so, but I think we need to undo a lot of what happened in the last week. Well, I'll send Marik a PM and he'll decide.

Alright guys, here's the deal. We're going to keep playing as normal until Xect can get back for real, just to see what happens. When he returns, Xect will read up on what we've done, I'll talk with him in a PM or few, and we'll decide to either work the original plans back into the story or go back to where he left off, whichever would be less drastic of a change. At that point he and I will probably co-DM; he's always had his overall vision of what's happening and why, and I've got a few shorter-term ideas (read: about 1 month worth of roleplaying) that can be tacked on just fine.

Stopping power is actually useful when the guy has body armor, and when your hunting deer. Since the latter is more common, yus, .45! And yea....357 is cheaper than .45, can't beat that.

I've got this feeling that the Cx-10 fires 9mm rounds, they're cheap, easy to manufacture and perfect for a military unit whose members can have their mission survival time measured in minutes. I also think that the CZU fires 5.56 ammo. Anyone know if I'm right?

Yea, I'd have to agree with Lumberjack. They are somewhat tactical, so I suppose that a .45/10mm round would be used. Besides, with the probably standard armor around then, I doubt any army unit would use 9mm, as even the Kevlar of today, non assisted by a cermic plate, can stop it. .45 can punch though Kevlar quite some, unlike 9mm. So, I theorize it's .45 ACP.

5.56mm is a good theory. It should be used most likely, as it has a good armor piercing capability and is cheap , in the HMG of course. The CZU most likely fires .45 ACP ammunition as well, since 9mm is crap as stated before against body armor. CZU is a SMG in the way that, it fires fast, is small, and is more tactical than a rifle in the CQB on a spaceship.
