Music For Ns 2.0 Trailer?

<div class="IPBDescription">I wanna do it! :)</div> Hey, do you guys want some kind of music for the new NS 2.0 trailer or do you have someone on it already? if not, let me know. i specialize in rock/metal area. (with a drop of blues on top). on IRC i normally go by Garret (also in CoFR fr31 server)

(I posted this on the suggestions forum, but i was told that was the wrong place <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'>)

That was well done. Although I think that NS fits better with more atmospheric / ambient music. Parts of that composition could fit, though.

Did you do all that digitally? What program do you use to mix?

I like that song! I like it a lot! If I where in charge, you'd be hired <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>
It breaks the trend somewhat, of general sci-fi music, and since NS breaks the trends of sci-fi games, it's perfect.

Sounds pretty cool, but I would agree that it doesnt really go with the current "scifi siren ambience" that characterizes the current NS music. I suppose it would work well with an action packed trailer, especially towards the middle when the scifi techno stuff starts. Personally I find the main metal riff a little boring, but I'm not really a metal fan anyway.

not in the style eh?

i watched a so called "short film" excecutively produced by flayra..the end credits had rock music. you'd think it wouldnt be in the style of NS eh? they MIGHT consider THIS for an action trailer..which in my opinion they should make for this trailer.

and besides..it doesnt have to be this song...i can make more.

as for that song i posted...thats all me and a drum machine, bass, guitar, and keyboard. i used n-track studio to record everything and a drum machine called SequBeat.

also..what is the style of natural selection? orchestral? that yeah of course anyone can see..but think of it...for a promo...build the hype with an action trailer...original rock music. it doesnt have to be long like this one is. they could make a gameplay trailer and an action trailer..that would be twice the hype in my opinion.

as for doing music for an RPG...i did do music for a videogame once..Desert Crisis...that **** dev team didnt even post a "thanks for some original music clips" message on their news or forums. so doing music for an entire game...i'd have to think about that..but i might do it tho.

Yes, well, it's a pretty big maybe as to wether I'm gonna restart planning it out again... but yeah, I can see having to think about it if ya've been burned before.

Anyway, on topic. It could be used for an action trailer... That would be sweet... especially if they do it the way they did the original tailer... with bits of non-engine CG... damn makes me want to story board it out... *sets the music to repeat... considers tracking down drawing utensils...*

Indeed.... especially if it's for a high quality mod....

although music can stand on its own very well, it can be boosted, and boost the things with it.. which ends up in a fair amount of co-support... o_o think i got off on a tad bit of a tangent there...
