meh.
Well i dunno. I wanted to have a go at it and this is what i got. I respect that Jamil has alot of things to do but it gets to the point where you're tired of waiting. Instead of pressuring Jamil (which is pointless) i made my own model as you can see below. I'm going to try and skin it too. I do have summer school though and if you who've been waiting this long still want it you'll have to help out. I can't skin mesh so i'll need help there. I can't animate so i'll need help there too. Enough talk more pix:

I'm not sure where your reference comes from, I've never seen it before. It has a lot of similarities to the reference pictures I've seen, but some areas are just totally different.

Please...PLEASE tell me that that thing's magazine is the Bizon styled mag underneath the barrel, so I don't drive myself insane thinking I'm the only one who sees it that way.
yeah, it's forward, and it's round, but so are the shell tubes on shotguns.
edit: hopefully i haven't induced insanity.
edit2: crap grammar. *i hope i haven't induced insanity.
I beg to differ. Vertically?? Its more like horizontally...
EDIT:
Wait, are you talking about the direction it takes bullets in? or the direction of the clip itself? If its the former, yus, your right. The latter makes for not so right.
it's not a p90 or something.. rotating the bullets 90 degrees and loading downwards and or some crap..
edit:
i said this:

make de gauss rifle a lmg considering that al marines carry it, the shot gun c10 canister, piston just a pistol, and hmg a chain gun. becuase u can't change the hmg into a flamethrowe (firebat) so yeah enjoy ^^.
personally i would use it as HMG
and it has sounds for HMG AND LMG included.

A chaingun? Well, that doesn't seem too starcrafty. I was thinking that the one with a Cylindrical-Shaped Clip that loaded ammunition into the magazine through a P-90 manner would be ideal for the HMG, since a Cyclindrical-Shpaed Clip can hold more. The LMG should be clip loaded, a tactically modified version of the Gauss rifle. Its in the Starcraft Ghost artwork, the one where the marines are in the breakroom. But you've got it straight so far korean . The pistol will have to wait till Blizzard releases some concept art on the C-8 Impaler Pistol that the Light Marines carry in GHOST...sad...but true .
excellent. I'd love it if you would. If i can get this thing skin meshed i can have it read for you pretty soon after.
I plan on using this as a LMG, because I can't go without using a Guass Rifle until the near end of the game.
I don't know, base the HMG off this, but maybe add a round drum mag on the bottom to act as a larger magazine or something?

Must be cylindrical magazine clip that feeds ammuntion into the clip through a P-90 like 90 degree spin, and then up to the barrel, then fired. NO DRUM MAGAZINE! NO C-MAG! NONE!!!!!11oneone

Italisized text doesn't respond to Chupacabra's Reload
And they were 6mm spikes, and it can't be breech loaded. If you watched the Brood War Intro, and you saw the damn thing's firing rate at full auto, you'd think that breechloading would leave you rather *depleted* and wishing you hadn't been so trigger happy.
Also, about that backpack feed magazine. Too expensive to standard issue. That backpack was most likely life support (See: Oxygen, batteries for the suit to run *power assist* and the shoulder mounted search light).
As for the realism of US Army not handing out M203's. This is the "future"...there is no such thing as Zerg, people can't turn invisible, guns don't shoot spikes, and buildings don't fly.
The Guass Rifle's were never reloaded because they didn't need to come up with a firing system for a RTS, where there is no reloading. They shoot in burst for BALANCE issues.
The ammo count was on the side of the Rifle, not on a backpack.
You act like that concept picture is the Bible or something. It is CONCEPT, that drawing was released way before SC: Ghost. That is the artist's imagination/opinion on what the Guass Rifle could be, notice how there are no "real" Guass Rifles in that drawing?
I'm not using the concept, I'm using the Terran Defeat background picture (the one where the marine is standing with his Rifle held out on a side view against a brownish/orangish sky and ground). That's what makes me think its so. If you disagree, at least offer some otherway of reloading with adding something like a jumbo slushie machine (even though I'd like that ). I used the concept picture back when I ranted about making a banana clip loaded Gauss Rifle with adjustable stock and RIS, but not now.
Yes, I am aware that the ammo counter is on the rifle, not the backpack. I hope that wasn't directed towards me.
However, I believe were talking about making it accurate with the Starcraft storyline/presets, not the way it is ingame. Reload has to be somehow at least feasible with the current model without adding something, as I stated before.
People can't turn invisible, buildings don't fly, guns don't shoot spikes (because right now aren't so economical that we rely on bullet size, not the shape of the bullet)...true. Howeer, I'll have to say you are correct on this, as I am puzzled and can't seem to afford a proper point on this. Stim packs make the ROF on a weapon go up magically then fall back down after a few seconds...weird O_o. So, I won't use any more modern day anologies.
/me really prays this is a good, clean discussion, not a flame war.
