<div class="IPBDescription">HLDM and TFC run... Knowing that I was getting into a problematic area I have 20 hours or so to get it going on a test box or we'll have to fork out for XP (because I know everything works under XP.)

    Thanks, I should have said I tried that but it doesn't work - maybe I've done it wrong?

    I have put a soft link called <b>libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3</b> in <b>hlds_l/ns/dlls/</b> and another in<b> /usr/lib </b>both linked to <b> libstdc++.so.5.0.3</b>

    which appears to be the only libstdc++.so I have.

    don't need it in hlds_l/ns/dlls, just /libs and/or /usr/libs

    DOH! I just found a typo - I missed the "-" from the file name.

    Now I get a different error <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    hurray for RH9. If you roll back to RH8 you won't get undefined symbol: __vt_8iostream.3ios

    Ok, so Rh9 sux when it comes to NS server. I think I'm getting the message now <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    What about if I roll right back to Enterprise 7.2? Will I get rid of the adminmod problems too ? I have about 3hours before I have to tell the hosting company what OS to install !

    On all the redhat 8 servers I've used I didn't need symlinks, just had to update a library:
    compat-libstdc++-7.3-2.96.110.i386.rpm

    Also, dunno why Debian scares you. I use it for my NS server box and it's extremely easy to use. Has dselect and apt-get ready to go.

    used debian last year - didn't like it. Probably to used to Rh to change <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I might try again but I also heard Debian performance is worse for hlds

    NS and RedHat 9.0 work a treat together, I have 2 server and both fine.

    did you put metamod on them?

    //edit: actually I dont care anymore, the WinXP performance and stability is excellent.//
