I had the server runner even wipe the ban list and it doesn't seem to be working, tired unbanning inside the game by wonid AND ip to no effect.... He was trying to use admin through hlsw and it banned him :-\

Anybody know how to fix this, I would appreciate it, thanks.

    Are you using any mods, perhaps you can try shutting the server down, and then turning it on after you clear the bans via rcon.

    So let me get this straight. Your doing removeid <wonid> in console? Do you follow it with a writeid command?

    I have had issues with HLSW 'unban' button not working for me. I usually resorted to doing it manually when this occured. This sounds like something different though. I don't know of any reason that HLSW would ban you. You sure he didnt ban himself? What admin_mod command was he using? What other stuff do you have running on the server? Did he actually have rcon acess to the server? So many questions. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> That's a pretty wierd problem. Did he ban ip 0.0.0.0? I've seen that happen a few times, but I don't know whether it would have any relevance. Wouldn't it be better to point the particular server owner over to this thread?

    No, it was eL MuErTe RoJO who got himself banned. I don't know how he did it, but I think he had too many bad RCON password attempts and the HLDS didn't like him. I tried admin_unban <his ip>, but that was before I knew that he was banned outside of the game. What came to my mind next was to wipe the ban.cfg, but seeing as I lack sufficient access via FTP or SSH/Telnet to do so, the man who runs the server didn't do it and he's still banned, as you can tell.

    If its a abd rcon ban then its stored in the server 'memory' i believe not the banned.cfg

    A simple rcon quit (to restart the server) should unban him i believe.

    Just make sure your server has an auto startup script <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Yeah you have to restart the server.     Should have worked.

    Use the HLSW feature to see all the banned IP's and wonids and see if your mate is on there. BTW if he is IP banned (wrong rcon pw) he won't be able to even see the server status. So if he can see it he has a wonid ban.
