<div class="IPBDescription">Gods wrath and hands</div> It was just awesome...

It was just so awesome........

fabulous!

I love nature and what it can do...its sheer beauty and power...Thank you God!!

I live in Edmonton, Canada, and its weather patterns are pretty messed up. For example: one day it will be hot and warm and the next, cold and freezing.......OM#, ****,,,holy ****!!! sry...right when I was typing a moth came out of nowhere and landed on my face...holy ****...dumb moth..oh so ya wanna parasite me....one sec...

OK...

The biggest lightning storm that I have ever seen was back in my old town, where I use to live for 7 years...It lasted the whole night. Our house was built on the edge of the town right beside 5 grain elevators and perfect pigeon hunting territory. It had a huge **** window designed to look towards the west and was facing an endless plain of wheat and the rocky mountains.

It was the best light show I have seen, even better than fireworks, for who can compare to God's talents?
Oops what am I saying? There is one thing that that I fondly remember best too, the stars...ahh yes...My mates, what can compare to ye stars? Maybe the ocean? arrrrh matey...no it is the stars....That is if you live in a non-light poluted part of the country..DAMN it is so awe inspiring to see the stars in their true form, you can see the milky way and andromeda without binoculars..ahhh...so nice...sigh...I feel sry for you city kids, ya only get to see like 4 stars....But what am I saying?? I live in the city now..doh!

So tonight at around 12:00 A.M. a big **** lightning storm hit around my place and lasted untill 2:30 A.M. I live near a ravine valley, so it was easier for me to see it...There was lightning every second, so cool, and it brought back a lot of memories..It also gave me the idea to swipe out my Nikon F2A and ISO 100 film with 55 mm f2.8 lens, and some other lens and tripod.
Then I went out and took a lot of pictures and had to bike to the 7-eleven to get more film. It then started raining and so I decided to pack up and head home.

here is a cool picture of a nice lightning bolt, so close!! (not by me)

Anways:

What are your thoughts on light-pollution, lightning, and photography?
Any close encounters with badass mother nature?

I had a close call with lightning once.
There was a huge storm and me and my sister went to the front window to laugh at a group of bikers who'd got caught in the rain (the kind you pedal whilst wearing tight fitting brightly coloured clothing) when lightning hit the front of the house. The entire window just flashed pure white, amazingly bright it was. The phone was the thing that got hit, mounted a few feet to the right of us on the wall.

Ever since then we unplug everything electrical whenever there's a storm.

you do realise that if someone had been on the phone just then, they would have arched thier back and dissapear into the phone accompanied by some nifty special effects. they would have woken up in a pink pod full of goo...

    No it's (or was) a cordless phone <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    i see.

the logistics of cordless communication make it impossible for one to leave the matrix using that method. i will therefore have to re-evaluate my theory and say that they would have just got a burnt ear and a stopped heart

If God exists, why are there lightning rods on churches?
