    First off, please search the forums, this has been covered several times.

    As far as i know, the official answer is "It would be nice", but Flayra, again as far as i know, has intended to keep NS free, so if it did go "retail" like CS and DOD have, it would still be a free download.

    As to a remake, Flayra's said in an interview (it's on the NS.org news page somewhere) that he'd like to experiment with the Source Engine (HL2), so all your worries about high-poly models and so on would be covered entirely there.

    In short: Nothing is confirmed.
