<div class="IPBDescription">UK server ips needed...</div> Hello everyone,
Its been my 3rd day playing Natural Selection and I'm already hooked. I try playing as much as possible but I only have 2 servers on my list at the moment. It would be awsome if some of you could post me some nice server IPs. CD is not a problem as I have to run it in my counterstrike matches all the time anyway! There have been other threads commenting on good servers that are now in the depths of the forum. Try searching for them in the new player or gen discussion forums. If you do try, look for server using the search tool in the bottom right, it should turn something up.

I'd have to recommend you check Roob's server if your in the UK. Remeber the address because it's in the process of moving at the moment and is currently down <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'>
Long story but when it return (which might be tonight) it is THE uk server to be on. I'd have said that before I was an admin there except that I kept quiet for fear of other people filling all the slots!

I can only agree with Eag

Roob's is the only server I play on, it'll be up again this week, thanks to a couple of regulars and alot of people coming on the server to fill it up for some fun games every day!

It has a clear set of rules, well adminned, and it got a full 5 star overall rating in <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=1&t=36261' target='_blank'>THIS</a> thread

Why don't people use Game Spy or ASE more offten, you might be a reg on one server, but you are missing out on all the awesome server that run things different!

This may sound arrogant, but in my humble opinion, roob's is the only server I've been able to find where people actually work together, and where the people are nice and friendly.

Teamwork makes for a fun game, not winning/losing

I have had GSA, ASE, and now I have .hlla and there are only 4 servers listed: old roobs, new roobs, BCK, and Xzilen's

Ok, when you guys just say ASE, it doesn't tell anything about the person who doesn't know what it is.
If you type ASE in google, you will never find that program.

It would be more helpful if you would give the whole name of the program or then direct link to it's homepage.

:o Cheers for the reply guys. So far I'm very tempted to try Roobs Server. Must still be down at the moment (unless I'm more of a noob than I think I was) cause I added it to HLSW and nothing showed up. In any case hope to see you guys on NS. Need someone toshow me the ropes to be honest! Although, I'm just chuckling all the time whenever I bite some poor marine to death. Mwahahaha silly silly humans.....

If you want to find servers there are loads of utilities, some web based, some free, some advert supported and some your *supposed* to pay for the most popular are All Seeing Eye and Gamespy Arcade, .hlla and hlsw are quite strong too, then there are some web based ones like serverspy and gametiger (I think), the links you will need are:-

LOL bygame servers? I've been going there a lot....not knowing much to start with. I don't even know the maps LOL. you could also try the YO-clan server, recently voted Server of the Month over at <a href='http://commchair.jarhedz.com/modules.php?name=Sections&op=viewarticle&artid=29' target='_blank'>Commchair.com</a>

be warned, at peak times it is usually full. But it's well worth the wait to get on, and if you tell anyone with a YO| tag you are new they will be happy to help you out.

I really can't say thanks enough to all of you that provided me with this info. Now my list is growing <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'> Anyways, I'm glad that the NS community isnt as snotty as the CS community. I still play that darn game but its somehow less fun compared to NS. Let's not server bash, I won't give you my opinion on bygames OR yo-clan. Seeing I don't play there, I think my point of view is clear.

Everybody can play where he/she wants, this thread is to promote newb friendly servers, not to bash any kind of servers.

When you try a server, try it multiple times, the people might not always be the same, there might not always be an admin on, and there may very well be a very bad game going when you join the server. Don't base your opinion on 1 or 2 games

Having said this, I'm very happy roob's is back up (old AND new! = 2 great servers) and I am very very very happy I have been awarded a reserved slot for the moment.

All in all, play where you want, play how you want, as long as you and others have fun doing it.

I use gamespyarcade. I don't pay for it. I laugh when I see their own ads work only 50% of the time for me. The ingame Half-Life server browser thing doesn't work for me so I rely on other programs and utilities. I can always find a good server with official maps and/or "fun" maps or whatever I want to play on gamespyarcade.
