You need to give the people who know these sort of things time to respond. Not everyone is on at the same time.

That DLL is one of the microsoft visual C++ runtime files. We do not include it with NS, so it has to have been damaged by some other application you recently installed, by a disk error, or by a virus.

If you want, you can backup your old DLL and grab the latest one from here and try using it instead:

    <a href='http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcrt' target='_blank'>http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-file...es.shtml?msvcrt</a>

This can be dangerous stuff though. I'd recommend having a friend help you with this if you're unclear of what to do.

i remember having errors similar to that on my old pc when the game would suddenly crash, i think thats a fairly important file if i remember properly. as MonsieurEvil said, its not a half life problem, and i think it might be a bit of a mission to fix it, but it is definately fixable. maybe a format or virus check/fix might do the job...

    /me shakes head

mate get a friend who understands comps to come over and do this for you.

The idea was to backup and then replace said DLL.

ok, I am not going to be held responsible if you bork your computer but here is what you do (and if you yell at us or can't post rationaly most of us will probably simply ignore you)

    1) do a search for said file
    2) when your search has stoped running youu will have a list of where this dll exists.
    3) rename each of them to MSVCRT.DLL.bak
    4) copy the dll that you downloaded to where the Dlls were
    5) attempt to run NS

Also, if you want our help you have to give us INFORMATION
    1) always give us your system specs
    2) give us the full error message if there is one
    3) Tell us where said msg appears (Hl, windows etc)
