    Decompiling is never a good idea, the end result is rarely functional or workable for building a new map from/making changes to the original.

    Anyway, you should be getting to permission from the map's author before you start messing around with it. Do you have permission?

    I've never used 'bsp2map' so I can't help you. But I have decompiled maps using Quark before, and there's not much left in the bsp after the compile tools get done with it. Why are you trying to decompile nancy?

    Ask DevilDog for permission first.

    If he grants you permission asking for the Source RMF or MAP file will help you greatly.

    Ripent, you can change values on entities, and add new point entities

    winbspc doesnt compile any big maps at all <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->, where can i get this bsp2map?
  • ShadowicsShadowics Join Date: 2002-11-07 Member: 7652Members
    Quark has a built it decompiler.

    I wouldn't bother with ripent, just open the .bsp in notepad. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    And the location names for the maps that came with NS aren't actually in the BSP really, they're at the bottom of titles.txt in the NS dir.
