Ok, Ive been looking around trying to play NS. Got the 1.0 full install, and then I try to play and it wont let me in games? Whats the deal?

    Do you have half-life installed? or are you using CS/DoD retail? or none of the above?

    When you play the game but instead of seeing NS maps/servers you might be using the desktop shortcut. Don't use it, instead us the one from the start menu.

    Start | Programs | Natural Selection | Launch Natural Selection

    If it says this error while you install saying that you need 1.1.1.0 for HL and/or 1.3 for CS click <a href='http://http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=18&t=37846' target='_blank'>here</a>.

    If you get this error "Server is Running Protocol 27498274987294 instead of 46" go <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=18&t=37849' target='_blank'>here</a>

    Yeah nvm I got it running after looking around some more on here <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> Its very fun, but it seems either my computer or my cable isp is being a **** because it lags really bad. Also, I installed the 1.4 server patch, will this affect me any? Sorry if im being a newb I just found this mod lol and its been out for a while. My computer specs are:

    1.7ghz P4
    512 SDRAM
    Gforce 2 MX440

    Cox Cable internet 256kbs

    No, the server patch will not alter anything on your side.

    Edit: hehe. Don't worry about being a newbie. Pretty much everyone here was a new player November of last year. Besides, you don't seem to be a problem case.     laggy? ns is generaly a pretty laggy game atm. try different servers to try and get a better ping ay?

    NS 2.0 will be out soon and it will have lower CPU usage for servers, this should fix most of the lag problems that come from the server not running on good enough hardware for people too spam turrets and mines and WOLs all over the place.
