I'm kind of new to the game and i would like to practice some tactical moves on the game without worrying about losing the game. Can anyone tell me where i can get a bot program for NS.
I believe that is a popular bot program, the thread contains links to the bot's home page.
You can easily find this sort of stuff by using the "search" function in the bottom right corner <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Miliardo, don't feel afraid of going into the thick of battle. You'll get the most experience that way, not with some stupid bots. Play, enjoy and you'll be a veteran in no time. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

also do a lan game.. turn on sv_cheats 1 and learn your maps... that will make you 99999x better than allota n00bs who say they know the maps but couldn't tell you what a hallway is <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> use the search in bottom right and try to find maps
If you want to visualize the maps, I suggest <a href='http://www.ns-central.co.uk/overviews.php' target='_blank'>this</a> site. Enjoy! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
I also suggest becoming more familiar with game mechanics and playing on both Alien and Marine sides respectivly. This allows you to better understand the finer aspects of the game. For example: You play aliens and want to attack an outpost with turrets. You die two times, and on the third find an exploitable position (blind spot) on the turret factory and chomp away unhindered. In this way you learn not to build TFs in the open and try to set them against walls.
Basicaly its all expierience, I'm sure most marines will yell at you your first few games. In the big picture though, it is they who will be happy you can command later. Decent comms are rare and few inbetween.
You can find the bots that are avilable for NS in our Downloads and Liks Sections and I wrote a Review on the "[RCBOT]" and "Which Bot" in the Reviews Section of this site!

Hope this is some help Mr. Peacecraft But I would fight real people if I was you, bots just arn't up to the level a human is!
Thank you guys for the replies to my question. I really am not that new to the game. I just wanted to try some strategies for both the alien and the marines. I don't guess that a bot program would be worth getting now that NS 2.0 is coming out. If anyone has any info about bot programs for NS 2.0, please contact me.
