I wanted to know this because I want to donate some bling to Natural Selection, and it says they would rather have paypal and anyways....paypal is teh h4x.

I researched some shizzle on paypal and I read all these stories about people getting their money stolen, but that happens with everything..... Anyways...IS IT SAFE OR NOT?

    completely safe unless you are trying to pay over $1000, when it becomes an attraction to hackers. But haclkers couldn't hack it anyways. A game called Runescape has over 10000 members i think, and one of the most used ways to pay is paypal. Now donate something for me as well!

    yep, it is pretty much safe, you just gotta be sure that the person you are dealing with is responsible and not a liability. Went on ebay and bot a Nikon A2 screen for my camera and it was good..I was using my sis account since I am too young.

    In all honesty, I don't trust paypal at all. I've used em in the past, and it was always an "eh" experience. Always felt like the guy in the movie walking up to some shady fellow and saying "you bring the stuff?". An exaggerated example for sure, but I just don't trust it. That and there was some sort of class action lawsuit against em.. yeah...

    Oh and they spam your mail. Not just your email either, you'll get crap via U.S. Postal Service.

    Unless they want to spend lots of money.

    Yeah - I've always wondered about ebay and suchlike. I can see PayPal as a safe service but what about people you deal with? How can you prevent them defrauding you?

    If you give someone a cheque in real life you can then go to your bank and say "Don't pay out this money to so-&-so" but can you do such a thing with PayPal if you suspect someone might swindle you?

    The lawsuits against PayPal have been started by sellers on the Internet that lose thousands of dollars. PayPal ALWAYS sides with the buyer. If you have ANY problems, you can contact PayPal, and they will return the money to you. Most often, they will close the account of the seller, requiring massive paperwork to get any cash or information from the account. PayPal is extremely hard to contact, yet they need faxes and e-mails from the seller to prove he or she is a good seller, and not a scammer.

    In short, you must be extremely wary of PayPal when you are selling items. It's best to make a secondary bank account and use that for PayPal. Also, make sure to frequently transfer all PayPal money to your account and empty the account, and transferring it over to your new account. PayPal has been known to empty bank accounts to transfer funds back to the buyer.

    However, when you are purchasing items with PayPal, you have nothing to fear.

    Check this website out to feed your fear: http://www.nopaypal.com

    I've never gotten a single piece of spam mail from Paypal, email or otherwise. And yes, they do have my email because they confirm transactions with it.

    Ebay is nice, if you know what you are trying to get;
    I got a brilliant mp3 player for only £66 (would have cost twice that ), and it was new/boxed. I also got some £150 speakers from there too, for £70
    neither items have caused any problems, and both work absolutely brilliantly.

    Ebay = win.
