The spikes are not hitscan, the spike projectile is just about visible and the model does correspond pretty well to the damage, to the extent that you can dodge the spike at the last second and avoid damage.
The OCs are very accurate, and appear to lead their shots. In general, they dish out quite a bit more damage than the 1.04 version. (Although dying slightly faster).
Yes, will you have to play smart with them, or will you still just be able to run and fire and never worry about dying? also whats the range on the new OCs? Still like 1.04 or better?
Range is basically the same, firing from around a corner is possible but much harder, and running a straight line past an OC will result in practically all the spikes landing.
most of the time if a door is filled with ocs(4+, thats only 20 res woth!) you cant cross the doorway without dying, going in the doorway would be laughable.
So no more using a jetpack to bypass oc's and head straight to the hive? Meaning you'd have to take out all oc's first, or else die trying to pass them? Or does flying over them mess up their aim?
is the HUD for the kill a lerk spike symbol if you get kileld by a OC, i thought when 2.0 was known as 1.1 that the new OC's shot all over the place, instead of shooting a spike or two per shot theyd shoot all spikes all around it, for no escape and it would suck if another marine was passing by and his teamte comes by, so they both get hit by spikes <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->
So are the new OC projectiles actually like the old lerk spikes(hit-scan with a graphic to show their path) or more just re-modelled and buffed up OC spit?

That was the biggest issue in 1.04. The fact that ducking and only being partially viewable to the OC meant you would rarely get hit.
