Ns Going Hl2

<div class="IPBDescription">And why it shouldn't happen. (For now.)</div> Even if anything HL2 I've seen so far was impressive, I hope NS won't be remade into a HL2 mod. At least not for some years. Flayra made the wise choice of using the HL engine to create NS. He could have chosen the UT engine or some other engine. Have you ever thought about why he did it?

For one, think about how many times HL in any form was sold and still is being sold.
Think about how the requirements of the HL engine are low enough to run on a lot more PCs than some other games (and their mods).

Now think what would happen if NS was made into a HL2 mod.
How many people are able to run it? I know some of you people need to remember: not all of us can constantly upgrade our PCs. (And some people don't care for it either.)
Even if it already seems like HL2 will be one of the top-selling games ever when it comes out, it won't get up to HL sales for some years. (But by then most people will have upgraded their PCs some more and make it a more vaible option.)

HL Minimum System Requirements: 800 MHz, DX-6 compatible video card with at least 32 (64, maybe?) MB of VRAM (RAM on your vid card), and 256 MB RAM. (Might be 128 MB.)

You'll be able to run HL2 as long as your PC doesn't suck. A lot. Although it won't be as pretty.
