WOOOOOt.
I got NS2.0 as soon as it was made official and played it for awhile.
The lead up to it was almost as good as the feeling of downloading it, I had fun with all the peeps in #nsradio and #ns from about noon till 10PM and it was excellent.. I saw DJ changes, flooding, and moderation being put on and off constantly (which i'm not too happy about.. I like speaking )
I grabbed it off blue yonder and I must say the game is VERY well balanced. I was getting voogru-like stalemates on regular servers.. and not stalemates of two hives lockdowns, but stalemates of marines v aliens going back and fourth. We had to use a lerk-gorg-onos rush to finally take them out.
Devour.. what can i say it's super cool. The HA i gobbled must have felt terrible, and on the flip side when I was eaten my crys for help from my team were answered with "he redeemed" it was erie as hell to know I was in the alien base in an ono's tummy
The jet pack changes are nice, making it a movement device rather than a "hover and PO the aliens" device, and it seems the weps are a little stronger now to compensate for the onos and fade rushes.
The new skill distribution is great, lerks can now machine gun spike and fly around and combat effectively, though I was a little disappointed to see that I couldn't "stick" to walls like I thought lerks could in 2.0.. did I miss something?
Go 2.0!
