I just download NS for the first time yesterday evening and you got me hooked <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->, i was on it for about 6 hours straight <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> and i have to say its a great game <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->.
Although there was one bad game and no one was taking the commander role so i hopped in and as soon as i was in i was told to get out coz i am a noob, so i got out and someone took over later they abandoned the command module and no one would take it up even when people were asking people to take it up. We were loosing anyways so i hoped in the command module and started placing weapons down for the team and still this one person moaned. It is like he instantly played the game and knew how to play it. I admit I am a noob with little experience but i was just giving the team some help.

Thanx, I have been reading through some of the guides, but i havent seen a detailed strategy guide for being a commander. (unless i am blind)

Go comm more often, everyone needs a good comm, dont let people discourage you. The only way to get better is to try, play, and get more expirience.

As for that person,well lets say he deserves to lose on his own since he didn't ake over the command chair.I would do exactly the same thing you did,and it doesn't hurt to learn,does it??

Just played the aliens there and i dont want to play them again in a hurry lol. They are quite hard to handle.
I was @ a lan playing 1.04 and we ran a server and tried to crashed the server with turrets. I placed over 1400 turrets on the map we counted them and the server just kept on going with a little difficulty but it worked.
The server was runned over a linux 3.06ghz 1024ddr/400mhz 120gb hdd but the next round the server crashed after 2 turrets dont know y but it crashed.
Well back to topic help the noob comm and they will comm more and u the exp player can help your team better by being a soldier and help the xomm to place the stuff on the map.

I tried comming last nite, i think im ok at setting up the base but its when it comes to giving orders and telling people where to go i get lost. :S

Resist the urge to go commander for the first few weeks. Play under some good commanders first and observe what they do, first, and get a feel for what it's like to be a base marine. Learn what the structures do, learn what the common enemy tactics are, and when you've already got some idea of basic strategy (and more importantly, the map layout) hop in the chair.
