See if you can connect to any 1.04 servers, maybe you are somehow playing with your backup version of NS
Make sure your install isn't corrupted..
Check the md5 sum, make sure it is 64ab04917a2b6a252ac639a6d2d13526

i am pretty sure that i am playing with the right NS version because i tried playing with both the ns in the filter and the ns backup.... <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Is the map ns_lost?

Don't use your NS backup - actually, in your case you should probably delete both your ns backup and ns directories completely. Then redownload anf reinstall NS 2.0 (redphive is fine, they are a solid mirror).
