Aliens Poor Teamwork

and how to fool them >:] (maybe)
I've been noticing that, after the game has gone on for a while, and the marines have been pinned in their base, and aliens are churning out fades and onos like nothing, that aliens are having great difficulty finishing the game.

They just attack 1 or 2 or 3 at a time, and sometimes they are, for example, always onos. Lots of times the aliens take forever to figure out to attack in a big group, much less a coordinated group, for example a simple lerk or two umbraing the onos = total pwnage, instead of stacks of onos meat and onos ivory for the marines.

It's a damn shame, but I think that in the coming weeks people will come to learn good alien teamwork.

This is not what I want to talk about.

What I do want to talk about is this: when aliens refuse to work together and send in onos after onos, when aliens have won but cannot finish the game, *maybe* the marines can do this. Hoard as much res as possible while you are slaughtering onos. Then dump jp and pray. Hopefully there will be enough onos on the alien team and little else that your team may be able to own them. Of course with the 3rd hive aliens get web and rocketspam, and also your light marines have a tendency to die to aliens who are already onos and not the other aliens who may have wanted to go onos but still need res. So try to do this before the 3rd hive, and try to die to the aliens who aren't onos, i.e. the ones who still need res for it since each alien gets res for every marine they kill.

This is a specialized strat but I found it a thing to try when fighting off onos after onos in a game you have lost.

PS Unrelated, I find that a lot of people approach 2.0 with a 1.04 mindset. That's a damn shame, and I also think that in the coming weeks that will change. Not what I am posting about anyway

    jeah a damn shame.

Bast and origin have nice vent systems with possible secret outposts.
But its too difficoult to build a secret base without an alien noticing that and defending against 5 stupid onoses.
and 3 hives with 6 resnodes still own everythning even with stupid oldscool teamplay.
0 resnodes res income is way worse than in 1.0

i once did a classic relocation to the upper left bast vent. mined the left entrance and defended the right one.
it took 15 minutes till the first spores came in (without hurting anyone). 20 minutes till we saw the first skulk. then it only took 4 seconds to kill our base.
They were all onoses or gorges.

yah its a damn shame, plus aliens dont have the advantage of a commander that the marines have, then they just go willy nilly and roam where ever they want to.

What you I think you should do is try to sneak a JPer near a hive and drop a phase gate and prepare to siege it. HA can try to push out, but from what I experienced the HA slowly drop in number from devour. And one time, when all the onos were killed the aliens just xenocided over and over and over and that eventually wore them down.

speaking of which..i thought 2.0 games were supposed to be short, 15-20 minutes so i heard..

all i find myself playing are these 2 hour..getting no where till the rines rush with ha//hmg/gl
but yeah i think that the lack of teamwork on the aliens side is whats making the games last so long..i mean yeah..1 or 2 skulks and prevent rines from taking a hive then 1 goes gorge and bang, second hive then build some stuff around it leave to the next..ive done it numerous times but i find all that res used for those hives and defenses are wasted cause everyone contiuously just rushes..1 by 1 wasting res getting killed..and most of all..not saving and of the resource towers.. i see that alot on 2.0...so everyone is **** near the end with only 1 hive wondering why we lost our first 2 hives..and now we only have 1 resource tower..hrmm...HRMMM...HRMMMMMM GEESE GUYS I freaking WONDER

yeah big lack of alien teamwork even tho the rines are pinned..3 onos can win the game if they are well organized with 1 gorge and 1 lerk, possibly 2 onos..its just that easy but no one can oganize like that..yet

I thought 2.0 was supposed to make dragged out games far less frequent, shorter games more common. It seems like the opposite is happening now, less so in clan matches where the aliens manage to organize and beat the marines quickly.

yeah the aliens should win alot more than the marines if they could organize, but soon after the aliens start to organize more the rines will too...just hope no hacks come out..

I never understood why the onos stay at the marine base doors... they have the res to go onos again when dying (thus continually wasting them as they preserve their life) and block each other , making onos kills more likely (unless they have redem)
What they don't realize is that 5 cara/regen onos can wreak havoc in the marine base if they all come in together. They don't even need gorges or lerks , they just have to charge simultaneously with cara or regen. 2 of them take the TFs down , the rest charge the HAs or respawning marines. GG.
