Future Ns Maps

We're always having maps of space ships, space ships, facilities, facilities...


why not have a change of scenery and have a map where the marines land on an alien infested planet. Maybe a small outpost (or dropship) where the marines start but once they leave, it's all infested. An alien planet.

    You might want to post this kinda thing over in the mapping forum.

    But anyway, what you're suggesting would include exterior environments which in the Half-Life engine are a practical impossibility. They cause low fps, low r_speeds, look ugly (the HL engine was never designed for natural exterior environments), cause problems with lerks and skulks with the skybox and to top it all off would make the game unbalanced since large open areas would give the marines a huge advantage over the aliens.

    would be good if someone made a map with a steel door in the middle of the Aliens & Marines then after a few mins after the teams have got ready the doors open and its one massive raging war... lol id love that..

    I've always thought a cave map would be great. Not so techy as mineshaft - mosly just rock walls &c. As for the nanogrid, perhaps they could pump nanites in there before they enter. I'm sore some kind of explanation could be cobbled together.

Have a look at firearms. It is almost ecompletely focused outdoors, and it does it pretty well and looks good too. now i have to go as my mohter is calling me
