a rant.. (kinda)
onos with redeem are a very very scary thing. with the redemption upgrade an onos using devor is a 1 hit kill for any marine. The onos rushes in devours then redeems with an HA in his belly, not only is this a 1 hit kill but its also extremly annoying to sit and wait to die. When your an HA you know that if that onos gets into devour range your screwed. LMG and pistol cannot kill a onos with redeem and you got about a 10% chance to kill an onos with an hmg. grenlaunchers and shotties have a 30-40% chance of killign the onos before he redeems. Even a skilled group of marines has an extremely hard time getting an onos to redeem before he has a chance to devour somone.
-when an onos redeems the marine should be freed.
a redemption onos should not provide the aliens with an extremly effective 1 hit kill to any marine with any equipment. I understand that 100 res takes quite a long time to accumulate, but for 102 res you can kill any amount of ha hmg you can get your greedy hands on. and because of that you will end up costing the enemy much more than 102 res along with the fact that you get res for every marine you devour. getting you 100 res back as an onos is easy as pie.
TURRETS.... ARG... why are turrets so powerfull for such a small small cost. The only thing that bugs me is that their tracking is to fast and they now have self functioning AIMHACKS haveing a room full of instant hit-never miss turrets is very annoying. just try flying over a room full of turrets at full speed, youll get hit by every turret in the room even though your flying 50 miles an hour 40 feet above them. with a group of 5 turrets that means instant death for skulks and lerks. And for 100 res of turrets you can kill any alein life form in 1 second flat. A blinking fade cant even get by a turret farm without getting hit by every turret in the room atleast twice.
soo that all i have to vent..... off to play some more.

but as onos i nearly never get ****** devour to hit anything, its so bugged up it wont eat anyone even if i crouch and crawl at them all the time. AAARHHHHHG!!!
and thoes turrets are WAY too deadly, it locks hive down even multiple onos cant break them! i cant even leap past em with celerity.
Same here: Just look down upon the puny, stunned human in-front of you and eat him. Don't think I ever missed yet. You'd almost think the difficulty changes from computer to computer with so many people that do complain about it.
I disagree about turrets though. I have leaped through bases of turrets as a skulk before without taking any significant damage, you've just gotta go FAST.
Turrets still do WAY better than offense chambers, yet they cost the same now.
I can't help but feel aliens got a bit of a nerf in 2.0 wheras the marines got uber turrets and cheap HA and Shotguns.
Gorge and lerk are deffinitely better now but the fade just doesn't do well against 2+ marines with upgraded lmgs.
Every game i've seen where the rines had a good comm they've won without fail, no matter how good the aliens were.
Okay, your math skills are sub par. While a redempting onos will cost the marines 20 or so res for eating one and then redempting, look at the real part of this:
1 alien res is worth much much much more than 1 marine res.
Lets say you have 5 aliens on a team. How long does it take to get 3 res at just one node?
Since you have 5 aliens and res goes to one alien every 5 seconds, or a tick, this means it takes 5 ticks to get just one res on a five alien team. This is actually 25 seconds. This means it takes 75 seconds to get 3 res as just one alien at one node.
How much does the marine team get in 75 seconds in on just one node? Remember, it's 1 res every 5 seconds... so that means 15 res for the marines. On a five alien team, 3 res = 15 res for the marines.
It's a shared pool vs. a single pool. Costing the marine team 20 res is jack crap. On the other hand, 100 res onos = 500 marine res on a shared pool. So please, do make the correct rant before ranting.
This system grows more inproportional as the alien team grows bigger. In other words, the more aliens there are, the more each alien res is worth in proportion to each marine res.
The only balancing factor to this entire system is the res for kills system. When a skulk kills a marine and gets 3 res, he gets way more than a marine does when they get res for kills. If on a 10v10, a skulk kills a marine but the marine's teammates kill the skulk, the marine team gets 3 res, but the skulk who killed the marine and got 3 res acuired an equivilent of 30 marine res.
So please, a redempting onos is in reality nothing more than a pain in the marine's ****. Eating a marine's real penalty lies in the fact that you are taking them out of the game for up to one minute, not for the fact you cost them a measly 20 res.
So please, I hope people refer to this post as to why a redempting onos isn't unfair in terms of cost.
You are indeed wrong -- the turrets rotate at 90 degress per second when they are tracking.

Whaa??? I was pretty sure he just said that it's too easy for an Onos to Devour then Redeem.
They've made it in the 2.01a beta patch so that you can't redeem while digesting. I guess no one said this yet.

Play the game longer. Five days still isnt enough...

There is someone terribly wrong. OC's are really deadly vs. Vanilla/JP marines. Heavys can take about 30 shots before they die. And if they get welded/healed there is no problem with the OC's. An Onos that gets healed and umbraed has (should have) no problem ripping that Turretfarm.
