I get it all the time. It's mostly Americans who try to make fun of my strong Scottish accent. It doesn't annoy me anymore. I do American cowboy impressions, that shuts them up most of time. If they do it when I'm commanding I leave the chair and that totally screws the game up for them. Serves them right anyway.

/me grabs his cowboy hat and six-shooter and saddles his horse off to the hoe-down

HEEHAW! HEY Y'ALL, LET'S GO GET OURSELVES SOME NICE YOUNG FILLIES AT THE HOE-DOWN!

Because that's the way all Americans talk. Just like all the British say "cheerio, old bean" and the Scottish say "och" and the Japanese say "ching chang", etc, etc. It's just stereotypical **** that will never go away as long as we have idiots that inhabit this earth and play HL.

It was awsome to hear ONOS!!! in with Japanese, German, British, Irish, Spanish, and French accents all at the same time over voice that lol.

I love playing on servers where the people have different accents, I even really enjoying playing with people who Speak Spanish, with my limited skills I can still kinda understand/ communicate with them . It is also really neat to goto the servers you know are British and hear them speak, is it cosher to do this though(?), to bad my ping shot up to 1500 last time I tried that though . I think you should feel special for having a Scottish or British or whatever accent, gees everyone has an accent, and most people don't like their own, if people make fun of your accent they probably aren't worth communicating with anyway, imho. Have a nice day. Sorry if my post is hard to read, the multiple quotes thing was not working for me this time, oh well.

I sound like a 6-year old girl who's just sucked in helium on HL voice comm, but nobody makes fun of me for some reason. Maybe because I use it for important matters instead of being annoying?

i don't mean to be blunt here.. but i kinda do.

you might be confused that they think you talk like that, or something..

the truth is Americans are VERY good at being all-around PR*CKS if they feel like it.

i'd know... i'm an American. i don't think anybody who lives here can deny that. so, i'm sorry for what those guys did.. but they really can't help it.

it's the American way.

Still my Scottish accent comes in handy.

When I was in the USA some girls herd me talking and got curious about me. But I couldnt do much with my younger brother with me . I am swedish...

I hate the muppets.

I am surprised at the amount of people that:
A) watch the muppets
B) meet above prerequisite and believe everything they hear on TV, even if it's a show for kids
C) meet above prerequisites and like to make fun of people for their nationality
D) meet above prerequisites and think they won't be kicked for it >)

ugh, 3 sentences starting with 'I'. Rephrase...ah nevermind. No time to be anal.

Because it's nowhere near as commonplace as people thinking that all English people say "pip pip, cheerio".

I do have an irritating habit of calling people "squire". It can't be helping the English racial stereotype.

I was required to take 2 years of a foreign language (rather limited selection too) to get into college. I still don't speak that language or even remember much about it. There's something seriously wrong with the educational system when americans have to take 2 years of foreign language (but only if they want to go to college) and have to take 10+ years of english, when they already speak it as their first language, and yet some people STILL come out of school not knowing how to even read.

yeesh. But I suppose that deserves its own topic...
