    Oh yeah and they find the pictures for it (and this is guessing):
    A) Google Image Search (guess)
    B) A well put together description.
    C) If the modeler KNOWS what theyre talking about.

    google image search wont getcha far, u hardly find good refpics with it. rather do a google website search.
    alternatively u could ask other weapon modelers (such as me, i got about 200mb of refpics)

    Look for cyberpunk guns.

    They usually have very inaccurate info, but for mass amounts of side view drawings/art for inspiration, there's no source that has as many in one location.
