Make Sensory Chamber Upgrades More Apealing!

Get rid of Pharamones
I say take out phramones (since SOF is the same thing, but better) and replace it with something completely different, somthing that actually affects your ability to fight. Both other chambers have something that helps in combat (carapace/celarity/adren) but sensory does not. All SOF does is help you avoid walking into large numbers of marines, and finding the single guy to hunt and kill. It does nothing while you are actually *fighting*. Cloaking doesn't help you fight either, it helps you hide, and even though it's great for ambushes, how are you going to know when they are coming unless you have SOF? Kind of a Catch 22 don't you think?
I'd suggest something else for sensory that really makes it worthwhile to classes that will be engaged in combat. Something to replace pharamones so that sensory might be chosen to build not because of the buildings ability, but because of the upgrades. Some suggestions:
1) Venom - After having attacked a marine, there is a % chance (maybe 70%?) he is infected with a poison. It will slowly drain his life (faster for higher levels, maybe 1 health per 3 seconds at level 1, 1 health per 2 seconds at level 2, and 1 health per 1 second at level 3)) but more importantly, it will also slow down the marines reaction time and movement speed. Something like 5-10 seconds after being hit, the marines movement speed slows by 20-30%. Also, maybe the rate at which he turns is decreased? Or his screen will wobble around making it harder to aim? This may seem powerful, but the upside is that the easy way to cure it is to simply get a med pack from the com. All the ill effects go away. Also, it takes 10 seconds to initialize, so the marine still has a bit to defend himself. This could make some nice tactics of moving in, biting, then running away and waiting to hear the marine cough (or some other audible noise that he is infected) then rush back in to finish him off.
2) Virus - Similer to Venom, when an alien touches (or attacks) a marine, he will catch a virus. but insted it will simply lower health by a very slow rate. Something like 1 health lost every 3 seconds at it's most powerful. However, this is transmitable between marines who come within proximity of each other, and there will maybe be an audible coughing sound or something every once in a while to indicate the marine is hurt. Again, healed with med pack eliminates the virus (but he can catch it again if he comes near another marine who has it).
Any other ideas? Maybe something like quicker reaction time that will increase your attack rate?

Also your ideas dont tie in with the theme of SENSEory at all.
As for Redford, what does DoT mean? Death over Time?
As for ideas not tieing in with "Sensory" i challange you to come up with something USEFUL that ties in with sensory. Right now SOF basically covers everything doesn't it? Since sensory is all about imput from your environment, and SOF gives you everything you need to know about the marines. The only other option you have is limiting the enemy input from you, which we already have in the form of silence and cloaking.
So what's left? Not much, which is why i was reaching for something else.
And Acer, the S&I forum is down indeed, but that's to prevent meaningless arguments about balance before people get used to 2.0. This is not a debate, everyone knows Pharamones is completely worthless compared to SoF. Why would you want to know where the marine *was* when SOF tells you where he *is*?
These are supposed to be non lethal things, they're to help certain things. Like...I dunno.....SENSES, MAYBE? *shrugs*
Thanks for the double post Jammer, but I already addressed that issue. I'm not talking about the same thing as that topic, thus i created a new one. K THNX BYE.

Yeah, so go ahead and SUGGEST something that's USEFUL that isn't already done eh? I'm grasping at straws here, if you can think of something that better fits the "Sensory" theme but WORKS to HELP me, then go ahead and post it. Until then, stop bashing my ideas.
A nifty sensory upgrade would be the ability to listen in to the marines comm chatter. Whether that is their text chat or their voice comms, I dunno. Should only work while within a certain radius, too.

ie, stop whining, start thinking
The original post was about making pharamones stronger somehow, i hadn't read the rest of the thread, i'd simply assumed they were working on changing pharamones to make it better. I started to reply to it with the idea to make something else, but made a new topic insted, sorry if it completely ruins the orgainzation of the forum for you.
Edit: Thanks for the backup TickTock

Hey now there's an idea! I don't know how much people would like it, but that's thinkin for ya!
...i won't even tell you what i hear when people go Defence first...
Sensory chambers are now as common for 1st hive as DC was in v1.04, and i really can't stand it. I wanted a little more diversity in the kharaa strategies, but now it seems its always SC,DC,MC. I know that SC are really usefull and fun, but sometimes you need other chambers to counter the marines tactics, and just for a little flavour! If all i'm doing is sitting there waiting for a marine to walk inot my mouth, it's not very fun for me.
