Problem

<div class="IPBDescription">mapping</div> Ok i finished making my ready room and finished puttin in the hive and commander seat. Everythings good but when i try and put reasources in or a sprite or sumtin. After i compile it and go into the game im at the loading screen. Then it beeps and says" Mod_NumForName: Sprites\explosion1.spr not found or models\b_resourcenozzle.mdl not found" any ideas because i cant run the map unless i fix this. Thnx

    this wont fix the problem but it will let you playthe map.

    take a sprite from ns/sprites (ex .spr) make a copy of it and rename it explosion1.spr

    then you can play but any one who plays will also need teh sprite.

    i would suggest making the sprite something wierd like cursors.spr that way when you see it you know where teh problem is.

    When you're trying to play the map, what does the background look like? If you see Gordon Freeman, you have to switch over to the NS custom game type before you try to play your map. What editor are you using, and how are you launching the game?

    When i load up the game it has the ns custom screen, cuz i use the: "-game ns -console" when i compile. And i use Valve hammer to edit the game and to try it out. But im looking around for some other faqs on editing ok.     I got it to work. thnx guys for your inputs they helped alot. But now i got another problem. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> ok i finish working on a map, then i compile it. I go back into hammer and then i make some changes. So i compile it again, but it loads what i had before my changes. The only way around this problem is doing: Save As: and naming my map a different name every time, eventually ill be out of name but i dont want 30 of my maps. If any one else knows the any or has had the same problem please post.     When in hammer go to map, check for problems, and fix any and all problems in your map and it "should" solve your problem, it did for me when that happened to me last, I think it was an invalid solid structure.

    ok thnx, ya i fixed my problem but now i have another lol i cant evolve into an onos. He gets stuck in the floor.     Make your spawns farther away from the floor.

    The problem with getting stuck in the floor when morphing to Onos sounds like you aren't compiling with the correct hull file. You need to have the -hullfile <half-life path>/ns/nshulls.txt switch in your csg stage of the compile (it's discussed in the mapping guidlines at <a href='http://www.natural-selection.org/Mapping_Guidelines.html' target='_blank'>http://www.natural-selection.org/Mapping_G...Guidelines.html</a>, just search for required settings).

    That should fix ths Onos stuck problems. If your Onos gets stuck on Redemption, then move the spawns further off the floor.
