Why Cal?

IGNORE THIS topic if 6vs6 on cal Is not true

Okay why is NS aiming to be on CAL? why not make your OWN league? 6vs6? WTH is that? NS should at least have 10/12 units per team? I mean what the Hell this is supposed to be a battle not a freaking CS match with one extra person to comm? Why Not have it like Battle for europe style were You battle for space stations instead? In no way should this game be like DOD <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Just an idea. I mean you Do have the power to make anything the want 6vs6? just does not seem like a real game. It could be fun though figthing over the Maps ? Karrah could be the team defending the Station and the challanger would be the marines trying to seize the station from the Aliens? I don't know just an idea i was tossing around with some people give me FEED back YES THIS NEEDS WORK AND idea i realize that but just give me feed back. I just don't think this game was meant to be played in a "CAL" Style of fasion and yes "We do have the power"

    i agree 6v6 is to small and is too much like CS clans. In NS it should be about 9-11 people per team in clan matches..

    Cal is a good league because they hold CPL which other people seem to want to go to for prizes and such. Plus, it is run fairly well *at times* <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->. The league has actually asked if they wanted to boost teams from 6v6 to 7v7/8v8/9v9 and the community voted on 6.

    Umm Points? what the heck is that? Why would you play NS for points? it should either a WIN LOSE OR STALEMATE? In a case of a stalemate they should just have another play off round. IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED in making Another League LET ME know. AIM ME AT STEALTH NINJA 95

    I wouldn't mind 7vs7 or 8vs8 so more clannies can play but I don't think making our own league is necessary. CAL is well-run and it is a respected league. It is great for NS and is definately the #1 league for NS. You could start your own league but it would get nowhere, all the clans are in CAL and staying.

    6v6 causes... problems for aliens. Not only do single aliens gain res a little too quick with only 6 people, expanding because very difficult because there needs to be at least one or two gorges building, which leaves four skulks aginst five marines. While this would be a bad situation in public play, it seems to be absolute death in clan play. IE, either the marines would stomp the aliens at the very start of the game (the 2.01 improvements aren't helping), or the aliens would survive long enough to all go fade and onos before the marines can tech, stomping the marines.

    I'm glad its a small number, i'm just starting a clan and its VERY hard to find hardcore team players.

    6v6 is perfect, just the right number to be able to work tactics.

    7v7 or 8v8 ive played, but personally i find the map gets overcrowded then, in a good 6v6 both teams will be all over the map.

    And the argument clans have problems to get members is very funny. If this is true I wonder how it is possible for TFC clans to play 8vs8 (in europe) or 9vs9 (in NA) in leagues... NS has more players than TFC nowadays...

    yes and 8v8 was carefully calculated out by someone who goes by the name ZdrozZ

    You actually need to do some researching before you go spouting off such lies.

    I am in charge of CAL's NS league... Not only that, but I actually come from the TFC community ( I'm also in charge of CAL-TFC ).

    Now the simple fact of the matter is that smaller teams are easier to organize. If anyone wants NS to actually show up at any future CPL's or even at other major LAN events, then you HAVE TO KEEP TEAMS SMALL. It is with this in mind that 6v6 was chosen.

    I have been involved with trying to get TFC at the CPL also... Even after being successful for one event, it was a pain in the rear to get teams of 8 to show. We wanted 16 there, but only about 13 teams were able to play.

    Increasing the size of teams makes it exponentially harder to organize anything.

    And yes... We did a poll to see which size the community wanted... 6v6 won by a good bit. Although I would prefer to raise it to 7v7, at this point in time the community likes 6v6... So we'll keep it there for now.

    we got a huge a$s roster and its hard enuf to get 6 at any give time especially on the weekend 6 is good 7 is pushn it, more than that it becomes spam on spam.
