Metabolize

<div class="IPBDescription">Where is it?</div> Why is it that in some games, my fades never get Metabolize? I often find myself with 3 hives, but no Metabolize. The 3rd weapon slot will be empty (black). I even get Acid Rockets, but still no Metabolize.

Are the servers disabling this? Are my upgrade choices affecting this?

I tried searching, but did not come up with an answer.
