<div class="IPBDescription">client dll not found?</div> When trying to connect to ns servers online it says cannot find map and then it says cannot find dll /client dll......I've tried many differant servers and have tried reinstalling ns and half-life many times.

I have the offical Half-Life CD and have updated it to the latest patch and have played half life online on public servers.
I can play natural selection ofline fine.
I have downloaded natural selection twice from differant sites from the download section given on the offical natural selection website.
I have tried several maps online to see if any other maps work.

Can anyone please tell me why it brings up these error messages which are preventing me from playing online.

Cheers in advance,

SkScotchegg

    Do you have the dll in your ns/cl_dlls folder? If not are you downloading the NS server instead of the NS client ?

    I took the time to try to connect to a server again just so I could write down word for word what it actually says when I try connect and this is what it says:

    Couldn't find maps/ns_caged.bsp Server will download the map.
    Your .dll [cl.dlls/Client.dll] Differs from the server's.
    Host Error: Disconnected.

    If you can help me out at all here on what all this means and how I can fix this I would be much appretiated.

    That's just odd. What OS are you running (if you're using WINE, there was a topic about the missing dll , might want t osearch for it)? Did you install NS in your Half-life folder? Does it show up in the custom game list?

    NS does show up in my half-life folder yes. I have windows XP installed and NS does show up in my custom games list yes.

    I really would appretiate it if someone added me to their msn and tried to talk me through things step by step on any sugestions they have on how to fix this. So if you're good with this sort of thing and know a lot about this game then can you please add me to msn with skscotchegg@hotmail.com......I am usually at the computer most of the day and my msn is always online so you'll defo be able to catch me.....it's been several days now and I still can't get this game to work, and I have reinstalled half-life and ns like 20 times already......I am quite experienced with games, I play millions of games everyday and have done for years on the PC, take counter-strike for example, I have played that for three and a half years online. I'm used to finding patches and fixes for games, but as far as ns is concerned, there's something seriously wrong here and I can't figure out what, all my mates and cousins are playing the game online, and they have no problems.

    Here's my Spec:

    MSI KT4 ULTRA FISR
    xp2400 333mhz
    512pc2700 333mhz
    46gb HDD UDMA
    Radeon 7200 64mb DDR
    Audigy 2 Platinum 24bit 7.1 surround sound
    3com ethernet

    Cheers in advance,

    open your liblist.gam and see if there's he same thing in there as psoted here
    <!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->////////////////////////////

    // Only show NS-compliant maps
    mpentity "info_mapinfo"

    // Using HPB_bot support for now
    gamedll "dlls\ns.dll"

    // Training map
    //trainmap "ns_training"
    <!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->

    I have no idea what could cause your problem, it shows up in the custom game list so it should be installed correctly and yet it cant find those files. The .dll error would indicate you haven't got the latest version, but you downloaded 2.0 so that should be alright. I assume you do have all map files in your maps folder ? NS maps should be in /half-life/ns/maps. Try a complete re-install of HL and NS if nothing else works.
