i have been playing NS a long time now....and i think the humans lose more in 2.0...

i think the humans weapons suxz but not Grenade Launcher... Cant the humans have more weapons....

The way i see it:
NS 2.0 is perfectly balanced with both a good marines team and and an aliens team. It was made for clanwar.
But on FFA/Pubs, it's very unbalanced in favor of aliens. Why? Because the whole idea behind the Marine part is that the commander controls everything. With a good commander the marine team is unstoppable, or at least as good as the aliens team.

1.) NS_Origin. We started out with a 6v6. Right away I had my entire team run from marine start, to computer labs. Cap the node. Next run to Xenoform research. Cap the node. Run to Biodome. Cap the node. At this point I had marine start electrifying along with computer lab. Afterwords we worked on taking a hive. I had Marine start electrified, computer lab, Xenoform research, and Biodomb all electrfied. We take the double node by sieging from the top part (side closest to biodome). From there I place an obs, 3 turrets, 2 siege and phase. Theres another 2 nodes. By the time everyone ran to furnace We had level 2 guns and armor. We take that hive by a siege. They retake origin (Because I never locked it, just capped the node.) At this time We secure the entire map except for vent hive and bio hive. After some node capping, we take vent, and mosey over to bio and win the game. The aliens didn't suck. The aliens were quite good. The only reason they lost was a lack of teamwork. My teammates just formed a train automatically when given a waypoint. I even had serveral guys request more work to do for the team.
My point is this. Without teamwork your doomed to lose no matter what. Sure their are some exceptions to marine victories, turret farming, etc. But my experience is whoever listens more wins more. Positive attitude and listening are more important than how well you shoot. Always remember that.
There's already a 8-page thread about this. The game is balanced as far as I see it.

i have just played a game were they keep changeing the comm and i keep telling then dont cange the comm so muths..
well now that i see the point..i can cere lese 4 now..but one thing keep geting to me....
they have welder and mines (and the handgun)..
if u use the mines u lose the headgun...that suxz(maby gota live with it) i think u like get it back efter all the mines is out...
i realy suxz...maby just a part of the game....
i mean no one could ever see it ...even if they got like a huge monitor...
and if the aliens ever ever came within 3000 feet near it
it would explode into like 9999 fragments would would each then
chase each alien around the level until he dies dies dies
and then after the explosion a....

Flayra has said that in scrims, aliens won 9 times out of 10. This was with SKILLED teams on both sides.

The reason for the inbalance is some last minute changes in 2.0z which only had 4 days of pting before the release.
So 2.0 is NOT BALANCED WHATEVER YOU SAY, HOW MANY TIMES MUST I REPEAT MYSELF AAAAAAGH!!!
But 2.01b is pretty balanced imho. (again, see the beta forum)
but the human have to weld their building and be out on the battlefield, but they have to run back to repare, then out to the field then back to weld, out & back & out & Back....

First I have to corroborate that the guns and damage are NOT the problem. I absolutely hate how the Marines guns have been re-vamped to compensate for their lack of success. The LMG has a substantially higher rate of fire and is more accurate than it used to be. The pistol also, more accurate, about the same rate of fire. HMG is so devastating now that it never misses. The GL is much more accurate thanks to the crosshair additions. The shotgun... this has been turned into God's weapon, only way you ever beat a shotgunner is if: 1. He misses 2. He Doesn't see you 3. No Ammo. And in no way can any empire founding skulk ever be able to tackle a marine with a shotty in a fair fight. Knife? Hah when people knife aliens in NS it always inspires a laugh. Welder should like open gapping wounds in which the aliens bleed profusely.. haha.
The commander, the marine team now more than ever has a symbiotic relationship with their commander and field marines. I personally command a team with no more than 2 commanders, 1 in the field and 1 in the chair.
But what pub offers another commander? Rarely.
Skulks and the camping. I cannot believe how NS2.0 is such a camper favored game now, used to be Marines wouldn't much trouble killing or fending off aliens that would camp. I now call Natural-Selection, "Camper-Selection" appropriately. Moreover, players have individual resources while the Marines still have shared and I DIRECTLY OPPOSE THIS, the biggest strategy to a Marine Teams arsenal was the ability to cut the Aliens off at the knees thru res. Ex: Early Gorge hunting, GG. Rush to their hive, get their RT. But now a 6 person skulk team can conquer the map in a matter of minutes, and in no way can a Marine team prevent this, chances certainly increased in a 6v6 game but in a pub of like 10v10 good freaking luck. Or they can save and grab 3 hives just as fast as they can kill your team.
Uh I think I covered most of it, but I have to give a serious 'FU' to the game designers on NS 2.0 strategy wise, really abnormal amounts of stupidity showing off here. The way to fix it? Going back to freaking NS 1.04 strategy system. Where killing a Gorge was a surgical freaking strike to the Alien team. Where when an Onos was born the Marine team had little hope of winning, I mean Onos used to ensure the games victory for the alien team but now, now its like a freaking bullet magnet. I mean for christ's sake I've seen games stretched to a 2 hour thing because the marines would grab some res, lose it to the aliens, Onos then born, Marines turret farm, Aliens get antsy send in Onos to end the game, Marines kill the Onos, Marines go grab the res back, same freaking thing over and over.
Yeah I've watched all of the Scrims/Matches so far hosted on HLTV and otherwise. Marines ALWAYS lose, the rare oppurtunity that they win; Aliens do something stupid or don't do anything to contain the Marines. Same thing, Aliens set the pace of the game in which they can do anything they want with all the res they have early on. Get 3 carapace quick, movement, or sensory. Its not that the Alien models are godlike or that they even needed to be **** with its that the alien strategy has been so simplified whereas the Marines need a freaking 3 Star General to win and even then the field marines can run into trouble and the 3 Star General is left with his pants down. I've tried numerous things, usually my commanding strategy is to go and fight for the hive the aliens plan on getting 1st, say in Eclipse, Aliens have Maint and they want CC bad, Send the whole **** team to CC and if the aliens aren't awake they won't be ready for it, but if they are they just group up and deal with it and thats rare at best.
Mostly, Marines will only win if the Alien team has trouble killing Marines, or if they have no clue what they are doing.
Edit: I apologize to everyone that has read this as of now, my ranting and raving shouldn't have gotten out of hand and I apologize for it.
If done properly, you can jump over the first line of turrets. Devour a Marine, kill the turret blocking your way, run back to DC... Rinse and repeat.
As for Marines losing to Aliens too much it does happen alot... but reason is because all Marine tactics and strats all rely on one thing, teamwork. Without it, Marines have no hope of winning. You can put down a Carapaced Onos w/ 6-7 shots from a shottie. Have 3 SG Marines focus fire on the incoming onos = dead onos. But alot of times you see people running away from the onos instead of firing at it. A skilled Onos will tear Marines a new one. But its very rare to see a skilled Onos that you cant take down. And early game Onos will get pwned because its normally newbs that save up res to go Onos that early in the game.
Another thing i see that can cause the Marines a lose is that most comms push for the double res first instead of the hives. Double Res bases require alot of res to build up and i believe just leading the Marines to slaughter. 2 skilled Lerks can trap and destroy a group of marines in there. When i see rushes to hives and pressure on the double res, i see more wins and just better Marine control.
