It Wont Let Me Connect To Servers

OK I go into NS then do a a filter and all goes as planned untill i click on the server. Then it just quick flashes the screen that normally counts down but instantly goes back to the server list. and then it says "could not connect to the server reason:unable to complete attempt." It has worked twice before and im not sure why. Ive tried like 20 times and two random times it has worked

    try ussing <a href='http://www.udpsoft.com/eye2/index.html' target='_blank'>ASE</a> to connect to servers, you might get an actual error msg then <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I did it through all seeing eye and HLSW and then i can connect to servers fine and dandy but it wont let me through HL.exe and i dont want to pay for ASE
