darnit A New Type Of Popup
<div class="IPBDescription">i kno it should go in stop popups but...</div> i know for a fact noone will read my post in there but i have encountered a "new" type of popup, it wont go away even if you goto the site and its MESSING UP MY NS GAMES SEVERILY!!!!!! its a heartbreaker to see you go onos and this popup comes up xing u out of HL (note: if i rejoin HL my comp crashes), i got adaware cleaned all 216 files ALL then got search and destroy Spybot and delted ALL files, i ran both programs 2-3 times it was clear, so i say good. turns out its back i get one every 30 min or so the site they spamm me to goto is www.ENDADS.com i cut off ALL internet access and THEY still popup, the only way to get rid of them is to buy this product they claim for 25$, somebody help or my NS games are ruined FOREVER!!! <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> it also comes up as a Messenger Service not a internet popup, it says to goto this site to block popups like these n crap, if this is spyware (if it was it wouldve been removed for good) i say sh*t like this should be illegal for harrasment <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo--> , helpp.. please? <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

Start | run | 'services.msc'
Right click 'messenger' service and select properties - set startup type to 'manual', then click 'Stop'

You will not receive any more net sends.
And go buy a hardware firewall. They are cheap and about as necessary as a modem if you are on the internet. You should probably run a windows update at this point as your PC sounds like yet another blaster worm factory waiting to happen...
go to start > settings > control panel > admin tools > services
find the "messenger" componenet, right click and go to properties, in the "startup type" box, make it go into "disabled mode"
that worked for me when i had the same problem

well i know that it's just a personal preference, but you can just run half-life in windowed mode. then you can control winamp fully (yes yes..i know about HLAmp but I don't like it), use your instant messengers, and surf the internet while being digested <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> .
biggest plus is that you won't lose your sound by doing this and HL won't crash.

netsend abuse is now a teh-bannable offence in my school ... netsend abuse is defined by any use of the command console ... n00b teachers SUCK
the comps log all logons and netsends have timestamps and comp id's attatched ... sux
they recently just disabled them with thier n00b admin powah
speaking of which someone decided to put doom95 in the net trash folder where it was untouchable ... we had fun, then we all had interrogations, then my n00b comp teach (voted so by 100% of the class) decided to find and kill it, and put a prog that deletes and reports the putter-of of all files in the folder .... it was fun ... n00b teachers suck

ok im a noob how do i run hl in windowed mode?!
my res is 1152 x 1024 i think so could i run it at 1024x768
