<div class="IPBDescription">They're made of teflon or something</div> I don't know if anyone else has tihs problem but if I try and skulk up a railing I always seem to stick to it or slide off it, but never over it. Anyone else get this problem?
I assume it's a bug of some sort. To get over it you have to treat it like a wall so walk into it, look up, press forward, then your clear of your 1 foot "wall."

For those of you who think that we just don't get "climbing walls", go to reactor room in Tanith. Try to climb up from the bottom to the entrance toward Waste/Cargo. When you climb up wall you are doing fine. It is when you hit the railing and you stop moving! It SUCKS! The other one is where the bottom of the ladder is UNCLIMBABLE. Mostly on new maps but not always. I seem to remember having trouble on the ladder up the elevator shaft at the west access corner on Tanith. If you jump up you can hit the ladder a little higher and then climb. But sometimes the gorge can't jump high enough! I had to build a structure at the bottom to have something to jump up on to so I coudl get on the ladder!

There are many nasty spots on the maps where you'll have trouble with skulk, or other alien units too. There are unclimbable pipes and pipes, invisible walls and speedbumps. I don't know how these got past the beta testing stages.
uh none of u are mappers? u cant climb some objects railing, pipes and whatnot because they have a clip brush around them and skulks dont stick to clip brushs.
I've also had times when climbing a ladder as a skulk and getting stuck!!! Not really great, particularly when the marine that you've been trying to get away from, walks around the corner to find you there like a sitting duck.
This happens all the time with me too, every rail(most of which are invisible to me on every map, dunno what's with that) I friggin climb up then keep sliding back down. It's very irritating.
Yeah especially when you see a parasited marine above you, and you go okay, I'm just gonna sneak up infront of him and jump up and bite his face off, instead you end up flailing around like an idiot, and marine goes 'heh, stoopid skulk', takes his time to aim, and puts a round inside you.
It's a map issue. There really isn't much you can do except find good ways around it. I wouldn't expect either a code fix or map fixes any time soon. The best thing mappers usually do to help with the problem is make a place right next to the ladder for skulks to climb.

So, you are climbing, and unless you got enough speed to keep cathing the little bars inbetween and hoist yourself over, you'll slip.
