Bad attitudes, warped gameplay amock
I've run into nothing but poor attitudes, people who don't listen, and frustrating games all night. Yes this is me venting, but its because its VERY difficult to win as marine unless the aliens are gimped . I saw you on The Lunixmonster tonight (using my HLSW spy hax ), I certanly hope you arn't talking about the RR.org servers , I always found them to be of a good nature (most of the time).
However, I dont think alot of the "Lamers" right now will stay lame...I think many of them are just frustrated players adapting to change. You see, currently there is no "tech rush" for rines, no DC>MC>SC Upgrade order for Aliens. People are still trying a variety of strategies against an opposing variety of strategies...and not everything works out. It took months before NS 1.x saw any strategies that worked (nearly) all the time and were still months from seeing any emerge in 2.x...and, in all honesty, I hope we never do.
I still get am not seeing the aliens as overpowered...I have been seeing Marines win alot more, because Aliens arent used to playing as a team like they need to in 2.0. Now, the team with the most Rambos is the team that will lose.
but yeah, we're just attracting a huge croud from the CS community. right now they're flamers, but they'll evolve into nice kiddies when they play NS enough. hopefully....
can't do much about ppl's attitudes. ppl can act the way they want, and the only thing that can stop them is good admins.
and what is this? communistwithagun complaining about marines losing? are you not the one that brought many of us grunts to victory against the kharaa threat on lunix!? are you not the one that smote all of us alien drones when we rose and took your ships!?
it MUST'VE been a bad night....
i kinda liked it when it was smaller ... well ive only been here since mid-1.04 but it was cool when most people knew most people and threads sank in days not minutes...
growing pains suck but they usually end ... for now just ban the llamas and wait for them to move on...
I beleive so, outside of retail mods...IE CS and DoD.
We've surpassed TFC last I read.
CS is only good for making people mad. You know...you have to wait everytime you die;you die to fast;you get lucky too much, and all that does in turn is make people seem edgy and impatient and irritable, and thus eventually end up becoming no-life a-holes.
There used to be this one group of people a while back...they named themselves myg0t. Some of you have most likely heard of em. They actually devoted themselves to making others mad and cheating in counter-strike for the fun/entertainment of it(I would know because I took part in some of it). I can see why they chose CS to do this with...We all had a good time =), then came VAC. Then we all made our own non-public hacks....it's the same story over and over I tell ya. You know, anti-cheats always fixing old stuff and new stuff comes out every day... an endless cycle for a game engine with endless exploits.
It was a VERY bad idea indeed.
Yes, I have a lot of these games.
I never insult someone's comm skills when they are really are trying there best. It's a tough job that no one wants to do. Sure, there are good comms who like to do it, but even the best want to mix it up usually and kill some stuff themselves. The biggest trouble with the marine team is that it requires a much smaller margine of error for the players and especially the comm then the alien team, which can fully heal at any DC or knowledgable gorge - costing zero rez, other than the initial cost. Micromanaging for the marine team is a curse and a blessing, but for most is the prior.
join a clan, start playing some orgonized games. that should cure u

I even have the demo That guy was.....questionable, to say the least.
But the sad truth remains that there are many new folks who carry no rspect in their CS-crossover. The ambiguosity of the intarweb has created literal social monsters - players who believe that the community owes them for "Dl'ing this stupid mod."
There's no way to get rid of these people - we just have to tough it out and hope to outlast them.
1) How is this 'our' game, *laughs.* I don't pretend to own it, and neither should you.
2) 80% of people are 'a-holes,' it isn't CS specific like so many elitists would have you believe.
*shrug* Picky. I want mature (and no, running your endless library of SouthPark wavs during a training session is not mature) serious (yes, that means making it to practice each night, every night, for the full session, and being on time) and interested in being competitive (yes, that means working on improve skills, doing drills, not just running around shooting each other).
Must be too picky, eh, that's life. At least NS pubs aren't as lame-assed as Tribes pubs. You want a bad night, CWAG, try those. Bad night every night, without end.
jeah... this is the comment of "wanna-be-com-dudes" ... BUT.. games would be more fun if com would just say few words of the strategy that he uses ... so that poor grunt would have a clue what to do... (jes jes.. follow the WPs) ...
AND The alien side: Those ONOS savers... OMG... ah... "Build res... get RTs--- more moves---" no... no res..." AND next hey ONOS... jeah... It kills my spirite every freaking time... ARGH....
So these are the crimes that deserves the ultimate punisment of eternal torture and agony--- or as we say in finland "those will be shot in the dawn".. or "tapetaan saatana saunan takana rektaaliin tunkemalla tekopenis jossa on 6 tuuman nauloja" (freely translated "killed with imagination".)

You can check realtime numbers and infromation here - currently NS is around 900 players short of TFC. I've noticed that during odd times NS is usually around 700 - 800 players behind TFC - but at peak times ( like friday and saturday nights) NS surpasses TFC by around 1000 players. Seeing how NS is really the only non-valve supported/retailed mod out there that is constantly above 2,000 players (second best is TS - currently it has 500 players) I'd say that it's only going to get bigger from here, which may lead to "more lamas" are you all are describing.
