Did the dev team remove Bite from the Lerk? I know it's more of a support unit, but Spikes are weak as all hell. I've never even seen anyone use Primal Scream, is it even any use? I love Lerking....but man, it'd be so much more fun if it still had Bite.
spores take down armour like theres no 2moro. if a marine stands in that for about 5 seconds hes on pretty much the same hp/armour ratio as u, face him 1v1 and spike him down.

You aren't supposed to be able to fight a bunch of marines on your own. You can weaken them with spores or spikes, or you can help teammates with umbra and primal scream.
Lerks are still very good in my opinion. Try a regen+lerk/gorge rush and see what comes about. I will almost predict a 80% chance to win if they dont have more then 3 turrets/4bb's.

The problem, IMO, is that most new (even old) players are still adjusting playing Lerk as a support unit. Too many times have I seen Lerks spamming spore, even against HAs. Sniping LA marines with Spike from a vent is *wicked*. Use Umbera while you can, before the possible nerf in 2.01. Primal Screams absolutely owns! Any Starcraft player know how badly Zerglings with adrenaline own.

As for removing bite,25 AP should give you an idea of what would happen if you were to be swooping towards a marine in full speed
