Looks good -- think you might have an extra file in your distribution file though... there's both an ns_hydrosity.wad and an ns_hydrosity_wad.zip. Thought I'd give you a heads up since the inner zip file is adding about 2 Megs to the download .

hydrocity was nice in the first version, but unplayable because of its complexity.. perhaps with the new overview map we will be able to play it :-)

i can't wait to play this on a server somewhere. maybe we can hold a certain ausns admin to ransom if we cant get it in their cycle?

I hate to rain on peoples' parade (no pun intended... really...). Not a bad map, certainly better than most attempts I've tested in the last little while, but there are a few issues to work out. First problem I noticed was with the weld points. The weld points in Maitainance [sic] Corridors, at the dual res, and in Storage Access all showed solid sprites even though they weren't solid to start. The weld point outside of marine start didn't seem to do anything (but then maybe I just wasn't able to hit it for some reason).

Also, I noticed that a lot of ceilings in long corridors have all the lights on lowered beams creating ceilings that anything flying can't navigate, and skulks can't run along (they'd have to use the small slopes at the sides of the ceilings. Most of these ceilings are also in very dark areas, so you don't know until you get caught that the ceiling is set up that way.

Otherwise, it doesn't look too bad to me.

Finally, I love this map since I saw it the first time, great work!

For some reason in 2.0 all weldables are drawn solid whether they are welded or not. Nothing I can do about this.
The weld point outside the marine start prevents the door from being opened from the outside. There is a button there but for some reason it its invisible. Once again there isn't much I can do about it.

[EDIT] Yes Nay, this is the final build.

By popular request it has been added to the *NTFM* server. It's not in the map rotation just yet but ask an admin if you want to play it.

Yep, sorry about that. My bad. I never saw it in the bug forums, but running around some other maps I see it. And trying the map again I was able to hit the weld point outside the door. Don't know what happened the first time.

I'm curious though: The invisible button outside marine start - do you make it look damaged when welded? Or break it right off by turning it invisible? Because if you turn it invisible then maybe weldables aren't drawn solid, but stuck drawn in their welded state (in which case I'm going to do some testing and fine-tooth-comb the bug forum for this one). And if you're actually making it disappear, maybe using a broken button instead might be an idea to consider (as much as I know you did say this was the final build, just thought I'd toss that one out there).

It's on the server, so it changed to on request. Additionally, if people make a case to download it, we would be happy to put it in the rotation.

Interesting thought. I'll check it out now.

[EDIT] I just had a look at the entity setup there and it turns out I have the actual func_button (the visible bit) with texture render mode and 0 render amount. I guess it was my fault . It would take less than a minute to fix but redistributing it would be too much of a pain considering this version has been out for a day or two already.

XxX/Tp Clan server (The Fastest in Australia) is now running the map, 203.17.15.204:27020
Its not on the map cycle as the admins are still forming a custom map rotation but ask an admin (Mcgoo, The Kurgen, USP and Narg) who can usually be found at ETG #ausns and they will throw it up for you.

I'm reluctant to release another version so soon. I may release a new build when 2.01 comes out, because as far as I know none of the changes required affect gameplay (If there is a gameplay affecting bug please tell me).

Mouse its now going to be 2.1 not 2.01 which means a client side patch, wait and see how it affects your map before doing anything new to it.
