- 7500 e-poly in hive location halfing my fps. 4000 at other locations. 2100 is the NS guidelines maximum.
- The Hera holoroom and base model are exclusively for ns_hera as i know. curse you.
- There seems to be a inofficial rule that siege rooms need to be oversized. a scale factor of 2 for siege maps is toleraleable, a scale factor of 4 hurts because marines look like mices. Your map has a scale factor of 8 near marine spawn. That makes oni looks like mices and skulks like pennies.
- comm hardly can see stuff in marine spawn. Make it func_seetrough or func_illusionary , clipped and invisible-from-top-down. The walls there are too high, too. Make the ceeling lower or rounder.
- "door siege room open in 30 seconds" is gramatically trash.
- Ladders are deadly for onoses and most other aliens. They can kill fairplay.
- Theres no alternative path, no vents, stalemates are too easy, even for a siege map.
- water should not kill.
- the knee high infestation just becomes invisivle when you crouch, thats crap.
now read the mapping guidelines from the webbed Mapping FAQ thread and make an official map. Shouldnt be a big problem.
I'll work on those things you picked out. I learn new things everyday, I didn't know most of them.
I'll make most of the changes in the v2.
Still trying to figure out how to make aliens have a little more of an advantage, without spoiling the whole game.
I put a large shaft up top of the first door box, (Pandoras Box). It opens when the door opens so that aliens can jump from top, and from in front. Also, put a vent that connects the pandoras box to the 2Res Junction with a func_breakable grate--will this respawn after the round starts over?

(my only thing to notice is that some locations look a little 2 big, but this map sure looks good!!!)
I'm doing beta testing on a V2 for it. I balancing out the game play more.
Once I finnish the new V2, I should have a more solid link. The first version is fun, but Marines have an advantage. I want it to be balanced as possible.
Lastly, I'm making the alien hive/siege room smaller--this will take some time.
Some changes I made are:
-Added Vent for Gorges to gain access to both sides of res banks.
-Added Vent shaft on celing of Pandoras box so that alines can fall on top of marines.
-Added Vent leading to the top where the shaft door is.
-Added lighting to the forcefield.
-Removed pipe, and water in main hive.
-Changed Hive names to " I " "II" "III"
-Added more lighting to Pandoras door.
-Changed Text to say "Kharaa in vasion, instead of Panoras Box will open"-Suprisingly, not everyone knows what Pandoras Box is.
-Changed route to MS, no more ladders going to MS (Hard for ONOS and FADES)--I closed off the two ladders in the Juction, and opened the door to follow ramps to MS.

Other Things to do:
-Reduce size of Hive.
-Take out Forcefield, install boring glass--<!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> I like the forcefield, but I'm assuming this adds to lag.
Something where the marines start in the basement walls, and the aliens start in the attic.
Can't wait till HL2 comes out, I need to get inspired to make more Rat maps.

the rooms are too big, makes it easy for marines to slaughter things at long range
I should have posted this in the first post. I just assumed everyone knew what a Siege map is, but I better post this.
