Would You Consider This An Exploit?

Just finished a most pathetic game, where the marines employed a nice tactic that im not so sure is real fair. The comm dropped about 8 CCs into the area of all our OCs and right next to as many as possible. The marines enjoyed happily shooting down all our defenses while the OCs fired upon all these dummy comm consoles. And of course the CCs have a stupidly high amount of HP even when they are unbuilt so there's no hope of them getting killed fast enough.
Needles to say, aliens lost that game. I would call this an exploit..what about you?

I don't consider this an exploit. Taking the micky a bit, yes, but not an exploit.
See, OCs are not meant to be a stand-alone defence, they're meant to be an annoyance, to slow the enemy down. They keep the marines at bay long enough for you to come up and eat them. And if the Comm wants to spend XX res to destract their attention, well, that's his perogative. He could've just spent it on a GL and had the same effect, so feel glad he's wasting his resources, and take advantage.
I employed a similar tactic once on one of the very rare occasions I commed... the Kharaa had some offence chambers near a double res point (NS_Veil, I think) so I dropped the res node. The OCs attacked that instead. It's not an exploit, it's clever comming. Feel free to drop some chambers down in front of turret farms sometime... can't take quite as many hits, I know, but still an effective tactic if you have enough res and need a distraction.
If I can track the topic I'll post a link.
Both sides had good arguments, one of them being the fact that in a real-life optic, Marines would use anything they can to stray alive and possibly achieve their goal (win), so using a CC as a wall in order to hide behind shouldn't be considered lame.
What I was okay about, was the fact that it would be cool to have a dedicated structures to be used as barricades (maybe some usable elements of the map).
However , since the CC will cost 20 res in 2.01d then its starting HPs should be lowered somehow.
Remember , the alien can also break hive lockdowns by putting a hive and bunches of OCs to distract the turrets while 1-2 onos happily smash everything...
Do they have to drop protolabs instead to make it fair ?
The decoy building strategy is valid , however dropping CCs in vents to block aliens is kind of cheap.

Protolabs don't fit in vents
The onyl reason I was able to do this was cause I had enough res (9-0) and the aliens let me save for it by not attacking all my res nodes. Moral of that story is dont let the comm get enough to build 5 CC's aint they like 30 each?
bah... it's funnier to drop various useless structures to impress the aliens...
The sad thing is an admin was in the game. And on the marines.
Lol!
/me imagining comander droping into hive:
-a broken TV set
-various pictures of his 3rd marriage
-a golf club
-an old sofa
-dirt bags
-empty jerrycans
-Britney Spears CDs
-out-of-date tabasco sauce cans
-his 4th ex-wife's ugly carpet
-WCs...
Com[to all]: AHA! See aliens? I Have The One Million Rez Node! Feel mah P0ww44h!!"

But one thing that many people forget to realize is that NS is only a video game, and it is highly unlikely that it will ever happen in reality.
As for CC spamming, it should not be allowed. I've never seen a gorge run into marine base and spam hives all over the place , and any other structure can only be dropped one at a time, at the risk of the gorge's life. Comm ust sits back and makes a bunch of licks and he's set.

where from?
--------------------
Well it is allowed if you have the res, of course but it isnt very smart and will lose you.. 500 res???
besides, they havent banned Wall of lames, or turret farms, and dropping a few things for decoys are much cheaper than wols and turret farms..
1. Other enemy automated defenses
2. Enemy players
3. Enemy buildings
That way, CC spam would be worthless to do.

It works the other way to: as a gorge, drop a ton of unbuilt OCs and all the stupid turrets will get distracted...
I'm a gorge fan and a lot of times I deal with turret farms with simply building a few DCs in a corner and then getting OCs right infront of the sentries, building the OCs and then bile bombing away and if there's not enough marines around the base will die in minutes before most marines could even get there.
I do not like this tactic but as they say: All is fair in love and war(fare?)
20 x 8=160 res
160 res = 4 HA sets.
20 x 8=160 res

Uh... I have to ask, why would a comm put down 8 comm chairs to draw fire if 1 would do the same thing? I've never seen more than two(maybe three) used to make an Onus wall...

I am there with Flash, you have to give props to the comm who actually stopped using the shoot shoot effecient bunnyhop shoot leet shoot mentality and actually used his mind to pioneer some of these strategies to outsmart more traditional (mindless copycats) gamers. But just the same, if these unothadox tactics are used at bad times or are not pulled off properly, they only hurt the team. People that think this anything more then being lame (aka acceptable) are just upset that this stuff actually works and beats your Shoot Aimbot shoot bunnyhop shoot ogc shoot skills.
They aren't invisible when hit or when they fire (Well, they partially are when firing).
