I won my first game today. I've probably played over 30 games. I've played as Aliens about 6 times and during those times it was the only times I'd ever seen Marines win. Now this is not true- although it WAS in 2.01b that I did this so I guess I still haven't won in 2.0.

Oh yes, just so this topic isn't useless... what do you guys think of getting killed because you stood on an IP or Phase Gate when someone was spawning/warping? I think it should just move you aside simply because it's an annoyance. I admit it requires you to be more careful and for the commander to place buildings better but REALLY- who cares? I just hate it when I get IPed to death when I have HA, HMG, and a welder.

try being an onos and getting to close to the IP when someone respawns, massive frustration!

I have no problem with telefrags. However, I wish IPs and PGs couldn't be walked on so easily. I'fe had so many accidental telefrags that wouldn't have happened if the IPs and PGs had the old collision business, instead of the new way.

Sometimes when I get HA/HMG/Welder or something like it I'll go slightly out of my way to run over IPs and Phase Gates. Why? I don't know- I'm dangerous.

And it's sooo tempting. You've got all these little platforms that will kill someone if they are on it at the EXACT right time. Imagine if walking on the welcome mat in front of your door at a certain time would dematerialize you. I'd be dancing on and off the welcome mat yelling "Come and get me! Come and get me!" then I'd laugh all weird sounding like "Shanananananana!".

Turns out all my actual telefrag deaths have been accidental.

Telefragging Onii is the greatest thing ever. No redemption for YOU, you didn't look where you were standing! This is one reason why it pays off to build a TF in the corner, and surround it with IPs. HILARITY ENSUES!!

a game i played some time ago, we lost our main base, so proto lab etc was down.
we only had 2 ha's and i was one of them.
i got fragged by the ip i built. .
i dont have any problems with getting telefragged by the ip, you shouldn't be standing on the ip.

Telefrags are usually rare and funny when they do happen. One time though, a whole HA/HMG PT train was telefragged by accident, PG and narrow hallways not good!

Alien buildings should be destroyed if built on top of an infantry portal.

i don't think PGs telefrag anymore... i just get stuck inside someone instead...

My only problem with telefragging is, as Maus said, how easy it is to walk on top of IPs now. I don't know if their collision was changed intentionally or what, but in 1.04 they would stop you a bit if you walked into them so it was MUCH easier to attack them as an Alien. As it is now you have to spend an extra second or two getting close enough to hit it while making sure you don't walk onto it.

Telefragging does allow interesting base building, as someone already mentioned... Additional fun is, when you're sure you're going to lose, hide the marine base in a long vent/hallway big enough to spawn in, and build a long row of IPs with a tfac behind them (and a few turrets). Hilarious as the aliens charge towards the tfac, hoping not to be on the wrong portal at the wrong time.

I telefrag myself intentionally sometimes, if the marines are getting ravaged just a morale boost for them

Best place to relocate in Hera: Engine room, in the little pit in back. Drop the CC back there, or the TF, and surround that with the IPs. Fun for the whole family.

Okay so it's not the best choice, but it's still great fun. Holds the aliens off until they can move the gorges forward to Bilebomb.

Elevator fragging onii > telefragging :P

mmmm that double res on origin, don' tknow how many times i've laughed myself to tears from timing that elevator of death on unsuspecting onii.

I hope they never remove IP suicide, its just so damned funny. It also feels good to IP under the newbies that are standing on the IPs trying to figure the controls.

Onoses in general are funny too- standing around with a devouring marine hanging out of your stomach, climbing ladders in general, and one time, as marine, I jumped in front of an onos as he swatted, and it launched me instantly the to the top of the tall room I was in, onto a small ledge.
