Any Suggestions On Dealing With Grenade Spam?

Here was the situation. I was a Onos just outside marine start. I guess the Marines figured they had lost so they start spamming grenades, it was nades non-stop. The whole screen was shaking the whole time. I would hang out of range and **** anyone who came near but I wouldnt go near base all due to the nade spam. We eventually won cause someone I think broke through miraculously but is there anyway to handle this situation??

honestly i find gl spam easy to break once you get the hang of it, first thing to do is send in a regen onos to break their spam, he may not survive once the smoke has cleared but by that time the rest of the alien team should be in the base aswell therefore in all theory overwhelming the marines

well thats my 2 cents on what i find works best gl if ya try and just remember KEEP RUNNING!

against good nade-spammers (assume 2 entryways, and 4 nadespammers), there's little to nothing you can do. Just wait for them to get cocky and to expand.. then crush them the second they spread themselves out. Otherwise, no, there is no cracking a correctly blockaded marine base in 2.0. Just hope to get lucky, or wait for them to expand. They can't be everywhere at once.

Just get a fade to blink through and sort them out.

Fade against 20 turrets, 3 tf's,2 armory's and 6 nade spammers.

Who's gonna win

^^^ fade + acid rocket them.

Get cara and adren, blink into view, lob 5 rockets, kill, the gls or hurt them (distracting them is main priority), blink back, and heal at dc's or field medic gorge.

Scent of fear helps immensely.

Nadespam works because the guys are right up next to the armory, and a new nade pops into the current clip as soon as they fire one off.

So you get two skulks, each with carapace and celerity. At the some moment, they rush in and xeno right next to the armory. If the spammers are lights, this kills them. If they're heavies, it knocks them way the heck away from the armory. The onos cue on the xenos and rush in (regen onos, please). Lerks spam umbra, gorges bile. Base goes down in seconds.

It's not ´that simple.
Even though you manage to pull an xeno off, the GL will just be re-picked.
The onos is blocked by +20 turrents and honestly, the fade is damn weak

You don't even get the chance of doing an attack because there are 6 exploding grenades every 0.5 sec

Something we tried as Aliens once, was a tactical terrtory loss. On ns_veil we had a two sided attack goin on with Marine Start, and we agreed to let them have the res point to the left of base. Less people in base meant an easier time in taking it down. So 4 or so guys out of 10 went off to try and expand down the left side of the map, while we crushed them from the right. Quite impressive teamwork on a pub!
Of course it was aproaching 3 hours and people were willing to listen to any sort of plan.

Actually kavasa, it was on the ARSclan server that this happened. Im Hypern00b, but we still won. I think the other team got sloppy and somehow a onos broke through.

As soon as I get the resources for fade, I go fade....blink into the almost-always-empty-marine-start, and swipe the node. I do it untill they give up. This especially helps with endame. Resource starvation prevents GLs

I tihnk i played against you Some fade kept blinking in killing a marine or taking swipes at our res until it blew, and we could never hit him. Fortuanetly our idiot comm would rather spend $10 on med spam in our own base instead of GL's. All I did was hide outside doorway entrance and wwhenever the big door came up and blinked in I quickly pressed the button to have the door slam down, many funny instances where he blinked in, killed a marine trying to build the res in our start, turn around, WHAM! right into the door

The biggest problem here dates back to 1.0 and I'd figure that flayra would of fixed it by now.
Weapon drop makes marine defence ridelusly powerful for a small amount of res. If your pinned in your base all you hafta do is buy a GL or two and they last for the rest of the game on defence, cause when you die 4 feet from the inf portal, your weapon is going to get picked before it fades out. so with about 100 res you could lock down your base for hours

OMG, are we all stuck in a temporal cogzality loop, like that episode of Star Trek TNG?
This topic has been done to death, OMG today is repeat day, my mind can't take these threads about things that had threads last week.

Sorry
