Marines leave green puffs of smoke behind them. Idea is that you can track marines by following the puffs of smoke. Problem is that Scent of Fear is so much better in practically every way.

Phoremones leave yellow puffs of smoke that are left behind the enemy for ten seconds at level three. The yellow "puffs" are about waist high on the marines, so you cant miss them. It would kinda look like this...
Phoremones would be better if the developers increased the amount of time that the puffs stayed, like thirty seconds, not ten, but right now scent of fear is just better.
I would like it if it gave more info about the marines and was cooler than yellow puffs( like a smooth trail or an area around the marines or on the ground so you can really snif them out of their hiding). Right now it is still good but it could be cooler.

Thats how it was in those yonder days of yore...ah, 1.4 nostalgia...
Personally, i think that worked better becuase if you fight more then 3 marines at once with pheremones you get a wonderful green layer of fog that acctually makes it harder to see around.
