    D&D cosmology. You die and you end up a petitioner on the appropriate plane in the Great Wheel.

    what about re-incarnation when you come back as something else ?
    People have claimed they remeber being someone else before who have died.

    I think you need to stay away from that "What level of hell will you go to" thread...but, on to my opinion:

    I'm all for there being an afterlife, if only because it would give a point to living. I mean, if you live and then die...what's the point really.

    Whether it's reincarnation, a giant ocean of consciences, heavan and hell, Greek/Roman-esque or anything else doesn't really matter. Since if there is an afterlife it doesn't matter until you get there anyway, and if tere isn't well, then none of that stuff exists anyway.

    I'm in favor of a world like that movie, "What Dreams May Come" (I think that's what it's called)...sortof. Basically an endless dream where you're in control. If it's not like that, then I think it's probably like when you close your eyes in a silent room. You can think to yourself, and make images in your head, but you can't do anything. It would get really boring though, so I'd hope it's not like that.

    I once thought to myself, "What if we're all immortal beings and living is just like dreaming for us."...Each time you die is when you wake up basically...it'd be sortof like reincarnation.

    Enough of me, I don't like to press my opinions on others...I just like to impress facts upon people. So nobody listen to me <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> .

    first off...when your dead. your dead. nothing no conscienceness there.
    but in the future, is there still hope? can dead people be recreated? resurrected?

    i believe that, when the end comes.
    god will destory all those wicked at heart and have no good intensions left in them.
    There are 144,000 that go to heaven, that will help rule over the earth. since if they come from the earth. then they would understand people more. since they once where people.
    The people that live through the end...will live on earth. and we will live forever. and god will aid in cleaning up all the stuff humans did to ruin the earth. to make it a perfect earth.
    The dead will be resurrected.
    The wages sin pays is death. so even those once wicked will have another chance.
    after 1000 years (like it says in the bible)
    god will let satan free to "weed out" all the ones that don't have the right heart condition
    then god will destroy satan and his demons forever...
    then we live forever on earth.
    and all the ones that where killed, will be as is. dead. no conscience thought. basicly i believe the earth will be what it was suppose to be originally. a place for humans to live forever happy.

    most people say the bible was corrupted by man. it was the only thing said to be inspired by god. and accurate. but all mans ideas are imperfect and flawed. so you might as well research the only thing that has more of a chance of being right.

    most people. alot of people. dont believe in god.
    but if there was a 1 in a ,1,000,000,000 chance to be happy forever?
    would it not be logical to take it? to have some form of faith or ideas?

    to avoid turning this into a discussion...so its not closed.
    best not to start questioning peoples ideas.
    thats disrespectful anyhow. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I think it'd be the coolest thing ever for an afterlife to be like in '<i>What Dreams may Come'</i>, alas my pessimistic view of religion and the naturally gullible nature of humans makes me think its not the case <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I wish the discussion forums would have opened by now already...cmon mods?

    I hope this doesn't turn into another of the lastt discussions, a discussion if God exists or not...It just really takes away your mind energy posting such long things.
    But hey <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> I do believe in the afterlife <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> I really do...I also believe in God...
    I am not going to say why I do unless someone asks me otherwise, but will answer the questions in a yes or no format...

    Is there a afterlife? Yes
    Is there a Heaven? Yes
    Is there a Hell ? Yes
    What decides the fate of where you end up? That is a tough question, a question God can only answer, but I believe in imo, that how you truly act in heart on Earth determines where your heading...Also Believing in Jesus helps...
    What happens when you die? Well, your body shuts down and its starts to decompose...Your body is the shell, but what's inside is in the afterlife.
    Is it like FFX where you become a FAyth and end up at the farplane? I have no idea what your talking about.
    What are your ideas? hmm, tough question <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I think believing in something like heaven, hell, and the afterlife, requires that you are openminded and are willing to believe in God and start a life, which requires faith and obedience to God's will, which is stated all over the bible in the teachings of Jesus and etc.

    But to specifically get into the details of what goes on after you die, is really mysterious...I forgot where, but there are some scientific studies that have concluded that there is an afterlife...I forgot the link, but this scientific team, has been researching since 1995 on what exactly happens after you die; it has something to do with the energy of your body passing on or something. I really don't know if you can really tell if there is an afterlife just like that, so I don't quite believe in that study.

    Has anyone heard of near death experiences? There are people, athiests and such, who have died and "entered" the afterlife.

    But yeah, its a pretty broad topic if you think about it. <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I'd imagine it's a bit like going to sleep. Only, you don't dream. And you never wake up. And you don't feel anything. And you don't know you're asleep. Actually, you don't know anything, since your brain doesn't even work anymore. So not only do you no longer have any knowledge of self, you don't even know you aren't thinking. Cause, y'know, you *are* dead, after all.

    That's usually the point where people turn to religion to explain things.

    It doesn't have anything to do with emotion, but I wouldn't call it uninteresting...its a muscle that works 24/7 until you die....er...unless, you have a heart attack or something.

    I still think, with no religious bearing whatsoever that there's still consciousness after death...Heavan and Hell is to black and white to me...everyone has different morals.

    You just die. You cease to be living. No afterlife, no nothing. Your biological computer switches off. Bad people aren't going to burn for their sins, the world is a terrible place, and the only way we can rectify that is to fix up <i>this</i> world, not just wait for the next.

    I believe there is an after life. I believe that there is a heaven, there is a hell, and that nothing I can ever do will earn my way to heaven, because I have sinned, just like everyone else.

    I also believe that Christ lay his life down on the cross, so that his blood may wash away my sins, allowing me, and everyone else who genuinely calls upon him as their lord and savior to enter heaven.

    Romans 1-9 pretty much explains why I believe all that.

    I don't believe in an afterlife, Heaven, Hell or any other form of after-death experience. I believe that you just die. Your body stops. To me, there is no point in living. We're just here because we're here.

    Although it would be pretty cool if there were a Limbo.

    Heaven...or something of the sort...yes

    Hell...or something like it...yes

    I wonder...what is it like to be like Satan, and foresay, volenteer to damn yourself to Hell to for eternity as an evil demon punishing other sinners. You know, becoming a demon yourself in the afterlife and punishing sinners.

    Either the above, or you just stop existing all together.

    I believe, if u die naturally as opposed to a skulk chewing ur face off, you body slowly dies, and for a brief moment. Youre alone. U can think about anything you want to and your body doesnt influence it. True understanding. And then, as the oxygen stops goin to your brain, this omnisence dies, aand you lie there, underground, while some worms start eating through you. Or you body goes alight and your placed on a little shelf, so future generations can look back and say, that has got to be the ugliest urn I've ever seen. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> or somthin like that.
