It's extremly lame. I mean if you are about to win the game.. or its a draw ok. But if you are loosing than don't do this.
How much is a CC? 20? 30? It's an almost invincible WoL (If you put in 2 welder guys.). where a real WoL will cost you at least 50-80 Res and can be easily destroyed by a GL or Siege.
Really I mean... something should be done against it.
Can only built one CC every 5 minutes or something.... Or increase the cost of one CC by 100% everytime one is placed. So two relocations can be done but a third or more are useless.

I don't post much but I had to when I saw this Subject. WOL (otherwise known as Walls of Lame) have been used ever since I started playing with 1.04. (Maybe even before that for you vets?) All of a sudden cretain commanders start using a similar tactic and people call it Lame? I don't understand the logic there.
If you have a good alien team why doesn't everyone just go Fade and blink in and out. Rinse. Repeat. I say this because it looks like the aliens have the map (res wise) and therefore could afford this tactic. Not looking for any flames here just constructive critisism. I'll await anyones rebuttal regarding this matter. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Hmm i reckon on this occasion u can stop the problem by having say 1 lerk spam crap loads of umbra on ya's as u run in, 1 alien ducks under platform onoses jump on and over easy past. For vents that get blocked i think is lame especially when rine base is in the vents. Also ns_veil rine start has that raised platform at the back u can do the same thing but u need two cc's. Only difference is the node is easily accessable. as opposed to that map. Bit of teamwork can get u past that situation, in others it just becomes stupid to try to get past.
And here I expected a more constructive answer than 'It's in the game, deal.'
Applause to the commander that did that, whole-heartedly, just as I applaud the first guy to jump on his teammate's head to access a juicy camping spot, to the snipers that found those pixel-wide holes stretching the map to fire upon the unsuspecting, and to whoever it was that found out you could build outside of ns_nancy's cockpit.
If it's an exploit, take it out. Until then, if Onos were meant to climb, they'd have hands. Deal. <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::onos::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tiny.gif'><!--endemo-->

Corporal Cyn, it has been stated many times by the game developers that cries of "unrealism" fall on deaf ears. They do not call this a "space invasion simulator" for a reason. It is a first-person shooter game. Realism, while all well and good, has never influenced any decision made by the developers.
Onos climb ladders because it is essential to their ability to cross the map. Not being able to climb ladders would necessitate a redesign of every NS map, which is not going to happen.
I don't know how it can be defended as more than pure obnoxious stupidity. The marines already have the ability to block ladders with turrets and other actual forward structures. The reason commanders are using comm chairs is because they have an insane amount of health and they can't be jumped over. This is in no way comparable to the WOL, which can be taken out easily by sieges or GLs. Spamming comm chairs, on the other hand, slows the game down and exploits the function of the Comm chair (to require tons of damage to be taken out) for a rather ridiculous purpose. Future updates of NS should limit the number of comm chairs to two at any one time (to prevent idiots from entirely wasting the res of their team). And admins should smack up people who waste everyone's time and fun with crap like this.

They can do that, with jetpacks.
What do thumbs have to do with 1) jumping or 2) a character in a game using the only means of travel between one place and another?
And what's more trite than trying to apply real world physics and anatomy to a video game's mechanics regarding fictious creatures and game balance?

Please, keep realism out of this.
..All three of those parties have hands, I would assume, that I daresay may come off the heavy weaponry to climb the ladder..
Your accuracy as well suffers dramatically when you're attached to a ladder, you may note. At least in one of those.
