But yeah I've noiced that too,but my local serves catch up late....REAL late
Those stupid big smilies are a dime a dozen, and I'm sure 500 people already here are using them.
I usually look for people's posts by their avatar/sig...
lol commie he's just saying he's starting to see more marine wins than usual, not a balance issue....
Plus the game is unbalanced even if we had 2 good teams....
whoever starts talking about balance will get impaled with a virtual pencil
EDIT : BTW Commie bring back Domokun please!

I can't frailart failed me. If you know of another hoster then I will
Hey barney, I played w/ you today on Gibs#4 (the long game on veil where we came from an entire team of heavies and 2 hives + all RTs to no HA and 1 hive). I hope that's not what you meant by marines owning .
Anyway, I believe marine wins are based on the fact that comms are really starting to learn about the new game mechanics introduced by 2.0. And uh, that's it.
Any idea where I can host my avatar? I used to <3 my pretty custom eye avatar (no it's not from the ring, it's my own eye).
ed: uh that's odd, looks like my avatar's back.
In public game more skilled side wins. So in pubs it is possible to win as much as one likes as marines (if few skilled friends join in same team).
If marines stick together and have a reasonable com they can win against aliens that are scattered trough map. But in competitive gameplay (clanmatches) marines don't have a chance. Depending on a map of course.
But usually the team that protects its resources and keeps attacking in teams of 3+ to others resources and hive/base wins.
Perhaps you were in a game where few players realized that moving as a team really kicks alien butt.
2.0 is Released - Aliens ruled the marines and there was nothing you could do, devoure was becoming a problem. Everyone loved 2.0 but as predicted, the "The Game Isn't Balanced" threads poped up like so many mushrooms. The Marines started to do SG rushes that no one knew how to stop and the aliens were getting killed in large number.
1 week after 2.0 - Marines had learned that Onos were a popular choice just to be able to devour and were starting to avoid ramboing, Shotgun rushes became less effective when Umbra was found. Sensory chambers were everywhere, no one used MC or DC first and it was a taboo.
2 weeks after 2.0 - Marines started to stop playing 2.0 like 1.4 and the newbies were getting use to the style on Natural Selection, DC started to become the first chamber, MCs were still taboo as the first. The betas had come out and offered changes.
3 weeks after 2.0 - Aliens started to have the tables turned and marines started to beat them almost 40 percent of the time. Games became more 50/50 and MCs have become the fist chamber of choice on most servers, team work on both sides is getting better, new attack styles are found on both teams.
This week - Teams have become alot more balanced as people start to learn to play as a team on both sides. Turret Farms are still an issue but are becoming less acceptable towards the end of a game. Aliens are still coming out on top most times though. 2.01b is the beta of choice with 2.1 beinging released around September 1st, many needed changes and bugs are being fixed. Will 2.1 be as good as 2.0, we will soon find out.

what he said
1) the players pile onto the aliens, and the marines play a constant 2 man down.
2) and the skulks all save for lerk/fade/onos, while ignoring the RTs under attack, and not attacking marine RT (maybe because you get no RFK for taking out a RT?), while whining for another hive and two more MC (one of the skulks went gorge right at game start just long enough to place _one MC, without asking what chamber the team wanted, then back to skulk)
And the marines show up as I get the chambers in place at the second hive, in force, in HA with shotguns/GLs/HMGs.... and most of the team are skulks.

Pwned. Whatever the hell that means.
Oddly enough, I've been playing a lot of games as a marine, despite prefering the Kharaa.
Marines were never difficult, just filled with newbierambos and marinehumpers that ownt listen to the Comm...
I choose to interpret that in the humourous way.

I do it too, so do most ppl
like Super Accent, I mean Beast. I always look for his Super Skulk, it took a while to get use to it over his old sig and ava.
or supernorn, when he replaced both his ava and sig with the eye, I didn't know who i was looking for, glad he changed back his ava.
CommiWaG I liked his old Sig and Ava, then he got the hammer and cicle, now hes lost his image!
Pjofsky is another example, that guy changes his sig and ava every week, I can't even remember what that old one looked like.
All the EC guys are easy to find thanks to the uniform Sig they all have and I really love Compronx's new Ava.

So what do you do when the marines put an observatory in the locked down hive?
gg sensory.

I agree with you about the first week.
Beyond that though, I'd have to say it depends on what servers you're on.
I saw quite a few servers that switched over to the MDS chamber order quite quickly. Aliens seemed to completely dominate using that order, often winning before I could even get the third hive up. But when aliens lost, they got soundly stomped -- trapped with low res and all skulks because they'd been recently killed.
It quickly became apparant to me that putting up sensory first meant that while the aliens would still usually win, it'd be a much longer and drawn out game, especially at the end when they had a hive locked down with an obs and a last grenade spamming stand at their home base.
Now it seems I'm running into more servers that go D first, with no real set order for the second two. To me, this seems the most effective tactically. With D chambers, if the marines are doing well, you can save slow-flowing res by using redemption, and you can set up small defended outposts for your team to make hit & run attacks from.
They'll probably lock down at least one hive.. most marine teams get that far these days, but since you still have the option of S or M, you can decide which to use based on how the commander is playing. If he seems to be using sneaky tactics, or doesn't seem to be worried about cloaking, then using an S can sneak up your third hive or give your guys the wallhack.
If he seems more straightforward and is setting up observatories and pinging places before sending marines in, then you know to skip the sensory and go for movement so that you're team-mates have more of a chance.
So.. I guess what I'm saying is I really like the D/?/? order that I've seen.
